Is Fantastico installed on all servers?

What's the SpamAssisan point to trigger?

BoxTrapper?

CGI Proxy or cPanel proxy allowed?

Posted
We do not allow proxies on our networks.

Sorry.

Just to be sure, but you are aware what cPanel proxy is? It makes all traffic that would goto port :2082 or :2083 (cPanel) goto port 80.

Unfortunately such cpanel proxies are huge holes just waiting to be exploited, hence why we have a strict policy against any sort of proxy on the server, local or otherwise.

Hello Mike,

I want to set up a webform to send out to my clients.

Is there a way I can set up the webform so the data will come to me via my email?

I know intermediate HTML and have a webform drawn up. Here it is:

http://www.queenpictoria.com/EMAIL/FormWebpage.html

Now, I realize I may be far afield. This is all new for me. It looks as though

if I were to insert the correct code in this webform, the data could be directed

to my email box. Is that true?

I need to get this webform out by the end of the week..somehow.

Any suggestions?

Anybody else have any experience?

Thank you.

Regards,

Hi April,

I would look in to the phpformgenerator in your fantastico for this or look at hotscripts.com as suggested to you by Bruce in this thread.

Hi Thomas.

Thanks for all your help on this forum.

You've helped me a bunch. I appreciate it.

Is there a written tutorial on how to set up a webform on TCH.?????

The live chat skims over it. They say TCH doesn't do webforms anymore because of,

spam??? Is that it. The live chat is not working for me. Sorry. Maybe nobody really does this webform stuff.

I get answered with canned answers and websites. I need more information. Any suggestions?

I notice you have a very nice forum with webforms all over the place.

I am reading about this stuff, but it sounds like cgi-bin is out. So why is there a cgi-bin on my domain?

Isnt' that where I am supposed to upload the whatever-it-is I am supposed to upload?

I know I need to ask you for patience. I'm on the wrong road at the moment. Lost, you might say.

I downloaded phpFormGenerator and my zip is full of several files. What am I

supposed to do with all this? The readme file gives short abbreviated directions,

obviously assuming I know something I haven't learned yet.

Is ths a trial by error experience on TCH, or is there a real way to do this?

Does anybody do webforms on TCH? I am sure they do. The websites are not

self-explanitory. Great car, no road???

Some developers seem to assume I understand what they are talking about.

It can get a bit over my head. Should I just jump ship?

Thanks again.

Hello again,

Just another note:

Some of the tutorials on phpFormGenerator have been removed.

It looks as though nobody has really touched this site for a year or so.

Looks a bit weak to me.

No zip files should be needed when installing phpFormGenerator, since it is a one-click install in fantastico. :)

I tried this form generator myself a month ago or so and its instructions are quite easy, so please give it a go.

At the time I posted that it was allowed. It is no longer allowed, sorry.

That's OK - Situations change

What would you suggest as a solution in order to access cpanel and whm when stuck behind a firewall?

Can we ask why you need to access cpanel or whm from behind a firewall? You can FTP files to your account using port 21 and you can access SquirrelMail over port 80.

Hi Bruce,

I am afraid I have lost the thread of the subject of your reply.

It is always good to hear from you. I guess I am confused because the initial question I have posted here was from January of this year.

Do I access the cPanel from behind a firewall? I have a ZoneAlarm firewall on my computer. Is that what you mean?

Should I turn ZoneAlarm off when accessing the cPanel?

I would very much like to understand how to FTP files to my account. Currently I use aceFTP to upload all my files. It works well,

but is there a better way?

Perhaps there is a better way to access SquirrelMail. I am learning how to download the email to my Thunderbird client.

If this response is off topic, please forgive me. :)

You do not need to respond unless this was what you expected.

As far as the original webform question, I have moved on to something else.

I did learn how to set up a webform, but through webforms.com

Thanks for taking an interest in my web experience.

Bruce,

I just went into my domain and found this "fantasticodata file".

Is this supposed to be there?

I have never seen it before.

I will delete it if I need to.

I am just confused about this forum thread.

I don't know what I did to get involved in this confusion,

and would like to get out.

Thanks,

I was responding to Rizama asking them questions since they cannot access cPanel. Sorry if I confused you.

If you have installed anything from Fantastico that file will be there. Do not delete it.

I have no clue what you have done, but if you were not logged in with your username and password it adds Guest before and after your name.

You are not in the dog house. :)
