kenpotts Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Hi all. I can't seem to locate the forum-type software in the control panel anymore. I like Invision, but it's just vanished! Any ideas? Quote
PeterPeter Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Hi Kenpotts, Have a look under the Fantastico Icon in your cPanel, there are a few in there. Quote
kenpotts Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 (edited) I looked there and only found some php type websites with forums and SMF. I'll take another look. Edited December 10, 2006 by kenpotts Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 SMF is the only forum offered in Fantastico. SMF provides one click upgrading through it's admin control panel. Invision requires a paid license. It is no longer free and the reason it's no longer in cPanel or Fantastico. phpBB is prone to attacks and has been removed from the one click installs. You are free to download and install any forum you choose manually but it is your responsibility to keep it updated to prevent it being hacked. Quote
kenpotts Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 Okay, makes sense to me. Especially since a site I host was hacked! Thanks for the help. Quote
JTD Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I run a phpnuke site. Which is heavely modified. And it uses nukes version of phpbb. I invite anyone to try and hack me. They will be in for a very unpleasant surprise. This link below is just a sample of what happens. Plus you automatically get blocked. And reported to whatever ISP host you use. Now the link below will not cause harm. But it will create so many popups. Plus it disables the crtl-alt-delete trick so you cannot shut down. The only way to turn off your pc is to unplug it. The point is nothing is unhackable even smf and Ipb. But with the right modifications you can bite the hacker back. Plus the fact that I use atleast 128 bit incrypted passwords for all my stuff. www.phantom309drivers.org/nuke/abuse/abuse.html Quote
carbonize Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 SMF provides one click upgrading through it's admin control panel. Not always. The upgrade from 1.1 RC3 to 1.1 gold requires you to replace the files manually. Quote
Head Guru Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 That would be because RC3 was not production software Quote
