wampthing Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I had been looking for an email obfuscator that i could run from my usb drive. I found this today... While nothing new, and not fool proof, I thought you all might like to play with it. No install needed. Quote
carbonize Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 (edited) The simple HTML 'cloak' needs some work. It only uses decimal. The encryption I use in Lazarus randomly uses decimal, hex or nothing when encrypting email addresses just to try and make it a little bit harder for the harvesters. abinidi Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Be careful with the simple version when you are using a WYSIWYG editor. Often, you can save the simple HTML like you intend, but the next time you open the page, it will have converted it to plain-text, so if you save a second time, you might lose the obfuscation effect. I've had this happen a couple of times. I think it was with Dreamweaver. Also a couple of online editors like for my blog. Anyway, just a reminder that if you use the simple version, it can get un-done if you don't pay close attention. Quote
