Guest Tandala Kidd Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Approximately how much space is needed for a basic web site, say 5-10 pages with a few photographs? Can I go with the basic hosting plan and have enough space? Thanks! Quote
TCH-Tim Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 The 700MB provided in the Starter Plan should be more than enough for a small site. As your site grows you can always upgrade without penalty. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Welcome to the forum Its amazing how much you can put on your space if you compress the images. I have a site with more than 90 pages and more than a 1000 images. in less than 200 meg. Of course the images are 300 x 225 at 10 to 12 k each. But if you compress your images, you can get a lot of them in 700 meg. Quote
TCH-Andy Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Welcome to the forums If you compress the images, it also means that you use a lot less bandwidth. As has been said above, the Starter Plan should be fine. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Welcome to the forums! As above, the starter plan is more than adequate for your needs. It contains all the same goodies you get on all the other single domain plans so there is no difference between them other then bandwidth and space! JimE Quote
Samrc Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Welcome to the forum! The starter plan has more than enough space for you to get started and grow too. One commercial site I work on that is hosted at TCH is more than 200 pages (some images but mostly text)and even offers downloadable pdf documents. It only takes up half the space allotted in the starter plan! And the amount of bandwidth easily covers the visitors we receive (we have email processed elsewhere so it does not drag on our bandwidth at all). Quote
