makaveli Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 ok so i would like to use i-tunes, to buy music, and a few 3gp vids i have open in QT. but the problem here seems to be the audio "stutters" and is horribly distorted, it wa sa case of fine one moment not the next ive tried reboots, un-installs re-installs the lot anyone else know what could be the problem? it is mind you, i think, got like this since apple bundeled i-tunes with QT Quote
nortk Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Assuming you are using Windows? If so, try these steps: Go to "Control Panel" and choose "QuickTime" On the "Audio" tab, check "Safe mode (waveOut only)" Restart iTunes and see if things are better. Quote
makaveli Posted July 9, 2006 Author Posted July 9, 2006 (edited) you are a legend thanks edit - its fine with audio in in i tunes, but now (still) web video and movie trailers in i tunes audio stutters Edited July 9, 2006 by makaveli Quote
nortk Posted July 9, 2006 Posted July 9, 2006 Sorry...you may be on your own for that, but maybe you'll find a related option. Perhaps someone here will have experience with it. Good luck! Quote
TCH-JimE Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Hello, Does it stutter because it has not downloaded all the content first?. If you forceably play them in something else, does it work any better and have you considered upgrading Itunes or Quicktime if possible? JimE Quote
makaveli Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 its the latest version, and this also applies to local videos (i.e on my hard drive) not just streaming vids Quote
nortk Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 The reason I made the suggestion above is that I ran into a similar problem that was related to another piece of software, TotalRecorder. Their FAQ, at http://www.highcriteria.com/faq_tr.htm suggests that the problem is related to the DirectSound driver. So, you might play around with that a little, perhaps by running the DirectX diagnostic tool (from the Start menu, choose Run and then enter dxdiag). I also would imagine that googling garbled audio itunes quicktime should point you to related information. Quote
makaveli Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 that has gave me an idea, played with dxdiag, i will attempt to upgrade (if not already there) to the newest DX Quote
