stevevan Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 (edited) Probably not...just part of life on the Internet. Of course if you would feel more comfortable, you can open up a ticket to the help desk (link at the top) and they can take a look at things for you. FWIW...I opened up an extra email account on my ISP for my son. After 2 weeks I went back in (he was never on line in those 2 weeks) and found 20+ spam emails. *sigh* And where are my manners...welcome to the forums! Edited June 7, 2006 by stevevan Quote

abinidi Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Hi guy! Welcome to the TCH forums. If you are a TotalChoice Hosting customer, you can do as Steve suggests, and open a ticket with the TCH help desk. If you aren't a TCH customer, then you'd have to check with your webhost. However, I got some email just like that on my domain yesterday. The headers were faked to make it look like they came from my TCH server. I submitted the messages to the TCH help desk, and they checked in to it and assurred me that my account had not bee compromised. Some SPAMMER just spoofed my information and headers into the message. You're probably okay. Chances are your email hasn't been compromised. But if you are unsure, you should check with your webhost's help desk. And if you aren't hosting at TCH, then you should!!! Best wishes. Quote

TCH-JimE Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Welcome to the forums Guy. Email spoofs are becoming an every day part of peoples lives on the internet, its poor though I agree JimE Quote
MikeJ Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Welcome guy. Sorry I didn't get to your PM yesterday, but yes, as stated above, this is just a spoofed (faked) email coming from someone else's host claiming to be you. Your email hasn't been compromised. There's not much you can do about spoofed emails right now, but most recipient hosts know how to identify spoofed emails and many will discard them automatically. Quote
