silica Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Does anyone know where to find a list of what Cpanel skins are available from TCH? Anyway to change the skin without submitting a help ticket? Seems like such a trivial use of the help desk's time and effort. Quote
Samrc Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 You will need to open a ticket to change the skin. All the accounts I work on started with the standard layout and I had them changed to use my preference: BLUE LAGOON skin. Sorry I don't know what else is available. Someone else will surely respond with that. Quote
j2k4b Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Yeah to change your skin you would need to submit a Help Desk Ticket. I would like to know what skins we do have so if someone would post them. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 On virtual accounts you must open a ticket with the help desk to have the theme changed. If you have a reseller account you can change them yourself. A note about skin changes. All new accounts are being set up with X as the skin. This is to provide a standard interface in case you have problems with your account the techs on the help desk will be able to help you find things in your cpanel quicker. If everyone is running a different skin it will take more time to get answers sometimes. Quote

Deverill Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 And remember also that there have been times when cPanel updates their programming and some of the "alternate skins" don't work right away. It's best if you stay with the default unless it's totally unnerving to you. Quote

One of the reasons I ask this question is because on my Cpanel page, the banner at the top of the page says Cpanel X. The URL that leads to the Cpanel says bluelagoon, however. I'm not sure which one I actually have. I'll send a note to the help desk and ask them to make sure I have the X panel. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 The X theme is icons and the BlueLagoon theme is text in appearance. Quote
Samrc Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 The X theme is icons and the BlueLagoon theme is text in appearance. Excellent description! If you have your computer set to display icons then you will prefer X anyway. I like the text links grouped by topic, that's why I have blue lagoon. Visit this page to see a screen shot of x: h**p://cpanel.com/images/cPanel_ss/cpf_ss1.jpg And this one to see a screen shot of blue lagoon: h**p://www.123reseller.co.uk/images/control_skin3_large.gif Quote
Kevan Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Thanks for the links samrc! I couldn't quite picture it. Quote
j2k4b Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Text would be good for me since I am on the slowest Dial-up service in the contry. Quote
abinidi Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I think the blue lagoon theme is the easiest to find stuff. I had the default theme and I could never find the links I needed. Switching to the blue lagoon theme made it much easier to find cPanel's features. Quote
