I posted this on the open discussion forum, but then realized that this board is probably where I wanted to be.

Anyhow, I opened an internet merchanct account with TrustCommerce and have happily been using their Perl API's to process cc transactions on my website for a while now, but that was all through Verio where I had things like SSH.

Anyhow, just wondering now that I'm with TCH, how can I get these types of advanced things installed and setup for my account? I have the option of using their Perl or PHP API, but both of them require things that I don't have access to do. PHP requires access to their own PHP extension, which I can't install into the php extensions directory, and Perl requires some modules that I can't install either.

Any help greatly appreciated. If I can't make this work through TCH, please let me know ASAP so I can go to a more expensive host that gives me SSH I guess or will do this for me.

I realize these are somewhat advanced requests, so any advice is welcome!

Thanks!

Hi,

I suggest you start a help support ticket stating what perl modules or php extensions you would like installed. There is no guarantee that it can be completed the final decision falls to Head Guru.

We can, if you can justify it, give you jailshell access which is like a protected mode SSH.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim- Could someone post or PM me what 'needs" justify? Rules of thumb will do. I'm not a programmer; my associate develops in PhP, MySQL, then some. I'm fairly postive we have custom extensions for a couple engines. But before I wake him up at 2 in the morning could someone forward TCH requirements? ^_^ I'm thinking the protected mode will do, but haven't a clue about jailshell maybe he will. There are a couple security concerns on our end when it comes to hosting, who should I address them to?

This thread is an older thread and the information Jim supplied is no longer the policy. We do not offer SSH or JailShell on any accounts. As for specifice Perl modules it is best to submit a request through the Help Desk and we can look at installing them.
