domynoe Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 For some reason I'm getting an error on changing my templates at all for MT. I needed to close off a blog's comments, which worked fine, but I had to take the previous/next code and move it for it to be visable on the blog and I get the following: ForbiddenYou don't have permission to access /MT/mt.cgi on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Site name: domynoes.net Are there issues with my site that I'm unaware of? Help? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 One of two things: Your config is not correct and it's looking in the wrong place or you don't have the correct permissions set on the files. Quote
domynoe Posted March 13, 2006 Author Posted March 13, 2006 (edited) Everything worked when I first installed. What would have changed since? I haven't played with any of it. And everything else is working fine-new entries can posted and edited, etc. Edited March 13, 2006 by domynoe Quote
TCH-JimE Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Hello Domynoe, Make sure that you have the correct permissions, I know some programs have a habit of changing the permissions (Joomla first outing springs to mind!) JimE Quote
domynoe Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 Okay, checked the permissions. Have no idea what to look for in the Config since this has been up since you guys banned GM and I was able to muck around with the templates then. As far as I can tell, the only problem I'm having is changing the coding in the templates. Yes, I'm a coding idiot, why do you ask? Quote
domynoe Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 I'm still getting this error with no idea where to look to fix it. Quote
TweezerMan Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 I would suspect that something in your template is triggering a mod_security filter on the server. You can submit a ticket to the Help Desk and ask them if this is the case, and if so, to fix it for you. (mt.cgi needs to be exempted from mod_security filtering.) The only other possibility I can think of is that your computer / IP address has been blocked at the server (blocked in an .htaccess file, or a server config file). It is not a file permission problem, as I can access the mt.cgi login page without issue. Either way, I think a Help Desk ticket is the way to go. P.S. You might want to think about upgrading MT on your site - 2.64 is pretty old. Quote
domynoe Posted April 7, 2006 Author Posted April 7, 2006 P.S. You might want to think about upgrading MT on your site - 2.64 is pretty old. Yea, I know, but I can't afford to buy a newer version, so, stuck with the old. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Yea, I know, but I can't afford to buy a newer version, so, stuck with the old. Buy what? MT is still free. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Yep, there is a free personal version for one user that is version 3.2. Quote
abinidi Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 If you get a chance, I'd recommend you at least take a peak at what WordPress has to offer you. Especiallly with a Fantastico installation, switching to WP is easier than ever. WordPress supports multple users, and is compeletly free with lots of plugins and great support. So, if you are interested, you might check it out. WordPress can even import your MT posts. (Hey, just for fun, set up a test WP install with Fantastico and import your content. If you don't like it, you can one-click uninstall from Fantastico again.) Best wishes. Quote
