ggilfedder Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Hello, I have a simple Index Of/ Page with folders containing files for users to download. Some of these files have lengthy names, and after the first three words or so, they become truncated. For example: Important_Marketing_Informtation_March.doc displays as Important_Marketing_Inf.... Is there a way to force the full file name to display? Unfortunatley, I cannot give a link to the directory because it is password protected. I've seen other Indexes that display full file names, so I know this is possible, but I can't seem to make it happen with my directory. I've add the files to the directory through the cpanel file manager and through cute ftp, but the result is the same. Quote

ggilfedder Posted March 6, 2006 Author Posted March 6, 2006 Why not put an index.html page in therewith the links the way you want them. Having the default directory there just makes it simpler. Then files just need to be uploaded to the appropriate folder and they're organized and ready for download. An index page would let me control the links, but I would then have to manually link to each file. Unless there's an easier way? Quote

TCH-Dick Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 You can also login to cPanel --> select "Index Manger" --> select the directory --> select "Standard Indexing (text only)" and then Save. Or add the following to .htaccess >Options All Indexes IndexOptions -FancyIndexing Quote
