As the Systems Administrator for servers at ***** Hosting and keeping all your websites online all the time... here is how everyone can thank me .

 

I'm located in Liverpool, UK and here we have a charity organisation called Zöe's Baby Hospice. It's place where terminally ill children go to spend their last days, weeks, months. Well, there's a local event where I can be sponsored to do an Abseil down the Walkabout building. I just wanted to see how many people here would sponsor me to do this so I can raise a reasonably large amount of money for Zöe's Place? This is an idea that I've just come up with since I received the sponsor form this morning. This will be taking place on Sunday 19th January 2003. All proceeds raised will be going to Zöe's Place.

 

The abseil is being run by Mr David Hooper, of 'The Outdoor People'. He is very experienced in this kind of event, and holds the Mountain Instructors Assessment, the European Mountain Leaders Award, the Remote Emergency Care 1st Aid Certificate and a B.Ed in Outdoor Education.

So it's now Jan 22, 2003 and the abseil has happened. I'm proud to say that everything went well... I enjoyed it enough to do it 3 times! You can see photos that were taken on the day at:
