Guest T-4-L Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 I would like to purchase your starter plan for $44 but I only want it to host my Invision Power Board and I would like to know if anyone from your company would transfer my board along with the members and posts and everything else for me please as I wouldn't have a clue whare to start. I would like this done ASAP as the board is on Lycos at the moment and Lycos just don't "cut the mustard". Quote
Head Guru Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 Hi, Sorry we dont offer board transfers. It can get tricky and time consuming. Sorry. Bill Quote
KevinW Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 T-4-L--- Check at the Invision Web Site and their company forums. Perhaps you can either find someone who has moved a Lycos based forum over to Invision, or will find someone who will do it for the right price ($$$). Good luck! kw Quote
KevinW Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 BTW -- Invision does offer a transfer service for $45 -- if your board on Lycos was also Invision - check it out at: http://www.invisionboard.com/support.cgi -kw Quote
T-4-L Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Hey guys I just paid the $44 and signed up with you. I've recieved an e-mail from your "newsales" confirming it so can you tell me what happens next please ? Quote
TCH-JimE Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Hi, Well: I) You will have been given an IP address, e.g. Http://100.100.100.01 where you can access your website and use CPANEL (where you can make your own invision board) II) You may need to change your nameservers for your domain name to point to ours III) If your getting someone to move it, you will need to contact them Jim Quote
T-4-L Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Hello Jim No there wasn't an IP address in the e-mail. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Hi, Please PM your problem with domain name usernamer to Rick who can re-send your welcome email Sorry for this minor upset! Jim Quote
T-4-L Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Hello Jim I have to tell you that the e-mail I got from your sales department wasn't a "welcome" message as such, more just a confirmation of my order, and I recieved it within 2 or 3 minutes of my submission. I have a feeling that I have to wait for another one, will this be correct ? Quote
TCH-Don Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Yes, your welcome email will be sent when TCH receives the payment from your credit card. It may take a few hours. For me it took about 5 hours after I made the payment. And Welcome to the family! Quote
TCH-JimE Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Hi, Ah, sorry, got emails coming out of my ears. Turtle is correct Jim Quote
T-4-L Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Thanks for the welcome. I received a PM from Rick saying that I should get an e-mail shortly because he knows that I have paid. Regards T-4-L Quote
Head Guru Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Just a quick walk thru of the steps - Client signs up for service. Our system generates a invoice and emails it to customer. Then the system forwards the user to the payment screen of their choice. Credit Card or Paypal. If the client decides not to pay at that point and closes the browser window, the order is still in our system. This is where some confusion comes into play. The user may decide two days later that they now want to sign up and the come back and run thru the order process and get the dreaded "******" already exsist in our system message, that occurs because the order is still showing pending in our order system. To avoid making people go thru the sign up process I have coded a click to pay link in the invoices sent out at the sign up process. So even if the user closes out before making payment they can simply make a click and pay. Let me explain the "passback" routine. Once the user pays at the end of the signup process or from the invoice our credit card process and paypal will 'passback' the payment details to our order software. This will automaticly update your order and flip the status from pending to PAID. This works 99.9% of the time. However, sometimes the passback for whatever reason simply doesnt passback. So even though your order was paid we still think its pending. Thus it doesnt get set up. So you ask, why dont you guys compare paids to pendings. Simply to much volume to do so. Ok, so now that your order has gone to paid status what happens. It sits. We provision accounts through out the day. If there are a lot of orders it may take longer to get thru them. Remember we also hand check details of each order. Spot checking mailing address, Spot checking phone numbers, etc. I hope this helps people understand some of what goes on here. Bill Quote
T-4-L Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Thanks for taking the time to go through that, I appreciate it. I would also like to say a big thanks to Rick for the help he has given me through PM's and e-mail. Quote
