If I remember right TCH had a link for a search engine submission? Was a going crazy? or have you removed that from the cpanel? If was a few years ago that I used it but I registered a new site and was hoping to use it. No big deal really just wondering.

it used to be there, but it's no longer part of cpanel.

 

Personally I always preferred not to use it anyway. Often it is best just to get some links to your site, and "allow" the search engines to find it. You can always do individual submissions at some of the search engines if you wish.

Also it was really hit or miss to its effectiveness. Auto submissions like that one were flakey at best. Andys' options are better.

Even though I did use it at times I always wondered if it really did anything at all.

Most of the time it wouldn't submit your sites to over half of the engines, it was a pain.

Search engines tend to go out of their way to identify and block automated submission scripts/software unless they have an agreement with the software creators to get money for each subscription or license sold and then Google gets to tell them what they can and can't do when querying the databases as well.
