MT 3.2 has been released today! Read the announcement at the Six Apart web site for a full run down of the many new features and improvements.

I participated in the beta testing of MT 3.2 - this is an upgrade that is well worth getting! :thumbup1:

I just upgraded (yep, 2:32am CST and all by myself. I'm so proud) and I'm loving it so far.

;) Anyone help!

I purchased 3.2. I had 3.15 and because I just dinked around with it, removed it all before I installed 3.2. First I transferred the tar.gz via ftp to my public_html folder, then I extracted it, edited the mt-config.cgi. Next I tried running mt-check.cgi, get 500 error. Checked permissions, all cgis are 755 (I tried mt-config in both 755 and 644 modes, neither made a difference).

When I had 3.15, I set it up this exact way and had no problems.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

I'm at my wits end. I tried extracting the file on my desktop, made changes to config script, uploaded and put all, except mt-static, in cgi-bin folder, changing permissions to 755, and still get the same problem on 3.2 - same error messages.

then i decided to take all that off and put 3.15 back on, and now I can't get that to run either, when I was able to get it to run before, and I know I've set it up the same way!

Does tch have any programs to check the scripts?

What program and what mode (ASCII/BINARY) are you using to upload the files?

I'm wondering if you're experiencing the same issue you had the last time you were getting these errors.

.tar.gz and .zip files need to be uploaded to the server in BINARY mode.

For MT 3.2, files in the /mt-static/images directory and all subdirectories need to be uploaded to the server in BINARY mode.

All other MT 3.2 files need to be uploaded to the server in ASCII mode.

If you've been relying on any sort of auto-detect in your FTP program to choose what mode the files are uploaded in, I'd suggest that it's not working and you should manually select the upload mode as I've indicated above.

There is no program to 'check' the scripts. :clapping:

The part of uploading tar.gz and zip files in binary mode I remembered. I also chose binary mode for uploading the mt-static directory and ascii on everything else. I thought there might be a program or something to check whether the changes I made (path to cgi, mysql, and mt-static) had some type of error. I've looked and relooked, and retried and still am doing something wrong. The only page I can get to is the index page.

I just saw something, and now I'm wondering - what permission should the public_html directory have? I can't remember looking before, but I just saw that it's 750.

Please try 3.2 again. If the problem persists you should open a Help Desk ticket using the link at the top of this page so that we can check the ownership of the folders.
