Does anyone know of a reason why one would not be able to drag files on the desktop or from folder to folder on an ibook? Three mouses (mice? :) )have been tried (wireless, regular, built-in) and rebooting didn't help either. This just started out of the blue on my mom's puter. The system should have all the latest updates installed as it was recently "cleaned" up.

I'm afraid it has been too many years since I've worked on a Mac for me to be much help to her. :)

probably a permission issue. Go to the Programs folder. In there is a folder called utilities. In there is a utility called Disk utility. Run that. Select your disk and click on the repair permissions tab.

She had actually already tried that twice, but it didn't work.

She found a file called dragtotrash.aif in her iTunes folder....no clue how it got there nor where it should go (or if that's even the culprit).
