Diogo Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Hi, After the restore made on server67 yesterday I lost all information in horde other than my actual emails. In my case, this means that filters, flags that tell me if a email was replied or not and, *most importantly*, notes were lost. I was told in live support that there was no way to restore that info. I'm very unhappy with this. At the time I had no important information in my notes, but I use them frequently to keep work in progress. I could have lost very important information having nothing to do with the problem. I'd like this issue to be dealt with. In the future, I'd like to know that all information is properly backed up. Thanks, Diogo Quote
TCH-BillH Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Dear Diogo, We are very sorry that you have lost some data from the hard drive crash that happended on this server. We were very fortunate to restore 99.9% of the data on the server and unfortunately lost about 0.1% . However, you must understand that TCH is not in the position to offer backups on a frequency that is comfortable for every customer. We make backups primarily so our systems can be restored. Although normally we make backups daily, there are circumstances that may prevent backups from being run on a particular day that are beyond our control, or would adversely affect our customers. We therefore have always in the past, and will continue to in the future, remind and encourage our customers to make backups of their crucial data in a frequency that is comfortable for them. Some customers only require backups once a month. Other customers choose to backup their data multiple times a day. In all cases, we provide a very convenient backup mechanism that can be used by any customer to accomplish this at their convenience. Which leaves the ultimate responsibility in the hands of our customers to back up their own data at the frequency that suits their needs. Given this, the solution is in your control. You can take the time and set up backups as you need to. This way you will always be able to restore your own data should a catastrophe happen. If you have any questions on how to do this, try searching our forums first. We have discussed this topic many times and our own customers have put forth several solutions regarding this. I hope this information helps. Sincerely, Quote
Diogo Posted August 7, 2005 Author Posted August 7, 2005 That's not the problem at all. I'm not complaining about how often the backups are made. I'm complaining because *not everything is backed up*. Once again: in Horde, all the information other than the actual emails is NOT backep up. Quote
TCH-Andy Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Hi Diogo, IF your account is not fully restored, please open a ticket at the help desk (link at the top of the page), and we'll look into it for you. Quote
