youneverknow Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 (edited) Yes it has happened. Google moon maps. (Actually only the moon landing areas) Try zooming in all the way for a big surprise! http://moon.google.com youneverknow Edited July 20, 2005 by youneverknow Quote
cajunman4life Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Yea I stumbled across that first thing this morning... and of course I wasn't fully awake yet, so I just figured my computer was nuts. Google... I should have known. Is it April 1st again already? Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Here I am thinking this is serious and very cool, til I zoomed way in Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I showed my wife, and when she zoomed all the way in she laughed pretty good Quote
Deverill Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Thase guys crack me up! And regarding the zoom... I knew it all along!!! A related thing... I read that NASA has a lunar orbiter that will take images of very good resolution and the article said that NASA would prove all those people that think the moon landings were faked wrong by getting shots of the lunar rover they left behind some 30 years ago. Of course, I guess they could photoshop the images they get back to add a little gocart. Quote
Samrc Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I am disappointed with their MOON map! They do not include a pointer for where the GOOGLE research center will be (opening late spring 2007) as described here: http://www.google.com/jobs/lunar_job.html The facility should be quite impressive (click next button at the bottom of each page to view details). -Samantha Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I should apply. I'd weigh a whole lot less on the moon! Quote
lightman Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 (edited) I am glad google is not serious all the time <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed. Btw, I *love* the full zoom Edited July 23, 2005 by lightman Quote
