TCH-Thomas Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Google has released an official toolbar for firefox, get it here. Quote
carbonize Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 My question is why would you want it? Firefox already has Google search and pop up stopping built in. Quote
marie b. Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 I was thinking the same thing. Plus you can download extensions and plugins that do everything bar the Pagerank. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 The spell checker look like a good reason for me. I miss the one that worked on earlier versions of FireFox, but will not work with the current one. And the translator will come in handy, if it works for Swedish Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted August 11, 2005 Author Posted August 11, 2005 Personally I like official things. Nah, seriously... I like to have less extensions. If one can do what several others can together I prefer one. Less trouble when upgrading Firefox and less extensions to upgrade. And yep, it can translate swedish, but I have never tried it (only tried english) so I am not sure how good it is, but you´ll be excused if you write "fish" to me when you mean "computer" if you send me something that google translated. TCH-Don Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Does the spell checker work in Firefox? I will give it a try tomorrow when I get home from work. Quote
vengavenga Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Plus you can download extensions and plugins that do everything bar the Pagerank. There's an extension that does that too Displays Google Page Rank and Alexa Rating in the bottom corner of your browser. Details here. Ali Quote

TCH-Bruce Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Don, I use SpellBound as my spell checker in Firefox and it works great. Quote

jhollin1138 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 (edited) Don, I use SpellBound as my spell checker in Firefox and it works great. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was just going to suggest SpellBound, good thing I read this thread to the end! Edit: I always liked the "AutoFill" feature of the Google Toolbar! Edited August 12, 2005 by jhollin1138 Quote
D.Slatk Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 (edited) I installed it and it's nice. I like the fact that it can highlight multiple things on the same page. And the fact that I can add a button to search my gmail inbox to it! Since I couldn't get spellbound to work on this version of firefox (I am hearing other people have been having trouble too - I wish it would work), the spellcheck is nice, it's a lot like working in microsoft word. You push the button, it'll turn the text area into "correct me" mode I guess, and you can click mispelled words to see their correct meanings. Oh, and also the fact it combines multiple extensions into one, that's always nice! Edited August 21, 2005 by D.Slatk Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Yep, I like the spell checker better than Spellbound. Quote
