snowboardmommy Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Hi, Hope you don't mind me jumping in here ... seems I have questions along similar lines. First of all, I was referred to you by a friend/colleague who has a reseller account here with TotalChoice. I am a professional web developer and have about 5 clients right now that are currently hosted in separte accounts and I am considering setting up a reseller account to host them all myself under one "roof" so to speak. About 3 of the 5 would each need their own separate SSL certificate and I am hoping that I would be able to set that up for each of them. I saw that there is a $35 set up fee and a $150 annual fee for resellers for SSL?? Is that correct (please verify with sales before jumping in). Would that fee cover setting up SSL for each client or do we have to pay $35 set up for each? Also, we can get GeoTrust SSL for about $50/year elsewhere. Can we use that or do we have to pay TotalChoice three times as much for the same thing? Also, I just want to check that I pay $19.99/month to you and I can set up as many accounts as I need for my clients myself (that all share the same resources) and I DO NOT have to pay for you to set up any accounts or pay any other fees (except any add ons such as SSL). I've seen other "reseller" accounts where you have to pay a monthly fee for the reseller account AND pay fees for each account you create under your reseller account and that just doesn't make sense to me. TIA snowboardmommy Quote
TweezerMan Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Welcome to the forums, snowboardmommy! TCH-Bruce Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Welcome to the forums snowboardmommy I can answer the last part of your question. I will have to get the facts on the SSL for you. You can host as many sites as you want with no additional fees other than the SSL provided you do not exceed the disk space and bandwidth allotments for the plan you purchase. Quote

TCH-Bruce Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 I'm back with the SSL information. SSL SecurityOperating a secure server (SSL) allows the transmission of sensitive data with your visitors. Using TotalChoice Hosting's Shared SSL allows you to conduct secure socket layer transmissions for free. If you already own a SSL certificate, Total Choice Web Hosting will install and host your certificate for $35. If you're in need of an SSL certificate, ordering through TotalChoice Hosting is $115. A $35 installation fee still applies, for a total cost of $150.00 Reasons for having a SSL provided by TotalChoice Hosting: You can give your clients a secure connection between your website and their ISP. Quickly become an easy to trust E-Business, sending your transactions over 128bit SSL. I found the information on the Hosting Features - SSL with a little help from TCH-Dick. HTH Quote
snowboardmommy Posted June 22, 2005 Author Posted June 22, 2005 Hi Bruce, Thanks for the info. It's helpful to know you can install the certificates we already own. My question still is, if I have one reseller account, can the accounts that are hosted under me have THEIR OWN secure certificates as well? And, would the fee to install EACH Secure Certificate be $35? Actually, just to be sure, I guess I should also ask, can each of my accounts have their own domain name? How many domain names can I host under the Simple Resellers plan? Thanks. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 You can host as many domains as you wish under the Simple reseller plan. You can also have an SSL certificate installed on any of your accounts. The installation fee is $35 for each certificate. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 can each of my accounts have their own domain name?Yes How many domain names can I host under the Simple Resellers plan? As many as the packages you create will allow. It depends on the size of the packages you create. Quote
snowboardmommy Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 Thanks for your help. My current hosting service is completely trashing my and my clients' websites, so i will probably be over here pretty soon. If I may ask, who owns TotalChoice and is there any likelihood it will be sold to another company any time soon? I know these things aren't predictable, but let's just say I am a fleeing a hosting company merger fiasco and I don't want to have to deal with this again any time soon!! Thanks! Quote
TweezerMan Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 If I may ask, who owns TotalChoice and is there any likelihood it will be sold to another company any time soon? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> TCH is owned by the Head Guru (see his welcome above in this thread), and there is no chance that TCH will be sold any time soon (or not so soon).
