natas Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Hello, my name is Chris I own three Movable Type blogs. Two photography blogs and one personal blog. I was having comment spam problems, but installed MT 3.16 and installed the plugin Spamlookup. So, now hopefully server load will not be very high on my sites. I was wondering, is TCH really good with helping Movable Type bloggers? I want to find a solid home for my sites. Both my photo sites are around 144mb in size, and I think that my one photoblog generates about 2GB of traffic per month. Of course, the 2GB was before I installed MT 3.16. I think the latest MT has anti-spam features i.e. No follow. My website My other photo website Thanks! Chris Quote
cajunman4life Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 I can tell you that TotalChoice Hosting is a solid hosting company. Relentless support and uptime. Even for virtual hosting, the servers are responsive. As far as MT, TCH does not directly "support" (ie help with problems, install, etc) third party scripts. However, the people on these forums are always willing to help, and I know several people here have MT installed, and would be able to help you through any problems you may experience. Quote

This place is loaded with friendly people who are happy to help, like some kind of functional family or something. And the hosting is very reliable as well, with some of the best tech support I've ever had to deal with. For $4 a month, you won't find a better deal. Quote

And as mentioned many that use MT and can help if needed. with multipule sites you may want to look into a reseler account for better controll and easier management. The servers are not overloaded and are beefed up with quad processors and gigs of ram, so you will find them very fast if you have any more questions please ask. Quote

Chris, I moved to TCH in January, initially because their hosting prices were very, very competitive but have come to find that the TCH "family" really does a bangup job of making you feel like you're getting way more than your money's worth. As for MT - I've been running MT for a few years on several hosts and this is the only hosting service that provided user forums that were as helpful as TCH's. If you have an MT question there are a few MT users around and I'm sure they'll give it their darndest. Welcome to the forums - I don't think you'll find a better host than TCH! Quote

I have updated to the latest version of MT (3.16) and I am using Spamlookup on all blogs. So I am sure everything will work smoothly!
