whoahorse Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 I have a question for you search engine gurus. I recentely parked a few domains on my main design site and just checked googles rankings today and notice that not only did I move up about 3 rankings but also a new page is appearing on the google search. Does parking domains help your site move up in the rankings? Weezy Quote
Deverill Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 I'm about 80% sure that it has no effect whatsoeve. In fact, a site pointing to mainsite.com and another pointing to parkedsite.com is less powerful than two sites pointing to mainsite.com. Google has made a MAJOR update to their algorithms recently. I had a site that for a certain keyword phrase moved from 141 to 3 and from 128 to 2 on another phrase. I'd say it is way more likely the new programming at Google that's responsible for all you describe. Quote
whoahorse Posted February 24, 2005 Author Posted February 24, 2005 Thanks for the info Jim! I made a huge leap in Googles rankings in a category that is very important to me and I wanted to know why THANKS! Weezy Quote
