I registered my domain name (doute.net) with domain-parking.net a few years ago, and renewed it on Dec.7, 2002. I signed up for TCH's Silver plan last week. I updated my DNS entries for nameservers at domain-paeking.net to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com a couple days ago. TCH's "whois" service shows the change. I still get dns errors trying to get to my site using http://www.doute.net and http://doute.net. Am I doing something wrong?

I've been more than happy with the service at TCH so far - fast servers - both uploading & viewing pages (using the comlpex url that points to my site - not the user friendly dns one). All of my support questions have been answered by reading the forums. If I need to transfer my domain to TCH to get things working right, I will. I'd just hate to spend the extra cash if I don't need to...

My son is playing the championship game in his hockey league today - and lots of family will be wanting to see the video that I usually post on my website - but they can't get to it until the DNS entry works! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you -

Hi Allan,

I can open your site without problems.

However, I had a little DNS-problem myself recently which the TCH helpdesk has solved for me.

I'd advice you to open a helpdesk ticket yourself, so they can take a detailed look at your problem.

Hope your problem will be solved quickly so your family can enjoy your son's games!

Hi,

I can see both sites no problem. Uk side, on a pipex ISP broadband connection.

Drop a help ticket into support, but I believe the problem could be your ISP and not TCH.

I see them too. This is just a propagation issue. Give it some time. No need to drop a helpdesk ticket.

Some ISP's do not even update their DNS over the weekends. If you still are getting a resolve tomorrow morning, then you should post back.

Also, make sure that your browser is set to refresh the view on every visit and that you've deleted all offline content (cached pages).

Many thanks to all who have replied. I have done all the normal things - made sure my browser cache was cleared, set to pull a new page & not check its cache, all that stuff. It's very nice to have received so many quick responses that others were able to see my site. I'll give my ISP's DNS another day or so to propogate (comcast cable).

Thanks again to all who responded. I'll post another reply on Monday & let you all know if things are working or not through my ISP.

Thanks to all -

PS - My son won the championship hockey game this morning - he's 7 yrs old & his teams goalie. They won 10 to 8. Great game!

Believe it or not, Comcast's DNS started working Sunday evening. Again, I would really like to thank all of those who responded so quickly - wether you were offering a solution (wait a while longer) or letting me know that my site was visible. I really feel like I stumbled across a wonderful community.

Now, I just need to find the time to get the videos migrated to TCH's server & get the pictures of the championship game posted...

Thanks again -
