I get email sent to my domains without there being a valid email address from which to receive, yet it gets received and stored in the general account inbox. Example: email sent to info@**** is received and stored, even though I do not have an email account or forwarder called info@****. Is there a way to discard/bounce any email that does not have a specific account associated with it? Thanks.

In cPanel look for the Default Address and click it.  Make sure it has :fail: set for your domain.  This will cause email to be bounced/discarded.

I have this 'fail' set in my default email settings and mail is still coming through to email, mailbox, users, administrator, web and coming through when a specific user is checking her email. How can I remedy this situation?

The setting should be :fail: (with colons at the beginning and end) and not just fail.

I have the full

:fail: no such address here

It STILL isn't working and is making my client very aggrevated~!

So I've always wondered this: what is it with the text after the :fail: ? Should it be included or shouldn't it? Does it have to be exact? Is it sent as part of the message back to the sender?

As far as I know there should not be any text after

:fail:

I will have to send myself something to see what the reurn is

but I expect it will be a mail delivery failure
