TCH-Rob Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 It is almost time to have these go live and we wanted to let you, our family make the decision. How often do you want to check them? We can get them in daily, weekly and monthly reports. Do you want all three or just weekly and monthly? Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I think weekly is enough. It might get boring looking at daily uptime for our servers Quote
AlanV Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Posted on these boards, where we can check them whenever we want? I think weekly is enough. If we want to check daily uptime though, is there somewhere else we could go? Quote

I will see if there is a way to make that happen. Quote
jslagle Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Weekly would work for me. Thanks for asking. Quote
Head Guru Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I think everyone will be very amazed at the number's we will be posting. TCH averaged a 99.97% uptime ratio over all servers in our farm. We saw over 22 servers with 100% uptime and only 4 with less than 99.9% uptime. Of those four, three dipped below 99.9% due to scheduled server moves. The family here gets VERY GOOD service. Enjoy the new uptime figures that Rob is posting now. Thanks Bill Quote
KungFòóFairy Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Monthly reports work for me. Superior server uptime paired with strong customer support was the deciding factor in my move from my former host to tch. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted December 1, 2004 Author Posted December 1, 2004 Something to keep in mind when voting, 30 daily posts per month, 4 weekly posts and a monthly post will add about 2800 posts per month for an average of 80 servers. This will in time put a strain on this forum and it will end up slow and bloated like me. Whereas 4 weekly and a monthly will only add around 400 per month If the demand is great for daily then I will talk to Bill about an off forum place for those stats. Quote
KungFòóFairy Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Will there be a report for server 86 this month, or are you waiting for it to be up for a full month before starting to post its uptime? Quote
Head Guru Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 86 was just added to the monitoring pool last night to be truthful. We will need to give it a full week before reporting on the uptime. Bill Quote

That's a good point... too many posts and the forums will fill up and people won't read them. Maybe one post a month with the uptime reports from the entire month would be good too? Truthfully, I don't really care if there are reports available daily, weekly, monthly, or whatever. I just care about the uptime... but the reports are nice to show friends when they complain about their webhosts always going down Quote
