BiologyMad Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 I have apparently exceeded my bandwidth limit and no one can access my site. How can I upgrade my account ASAP?? Quote
TCH-Rick Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 You will need to submit a Help Desk ticket using the link at the top of this page. Quote
BiologyMad Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 I have done this already - however i need this problem fixed ASAP The problem i have is that TotalChoiceHosting never sent me a warning email to advise me that i was approaching my limit - all of a sudden my site is just down with the message saying that I have exceeded my limit. I am annoyed becuase I never recieved any warning so i could recitfy the problem before my site went down. I now have a big presentation tomorrow, where I need to use my site. Quote
BiologyMad Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 i just paid for the next month on the 22/11 - i dont see how I could have exceeded my bandwidth limit within 1 week - this has never happened to me before. I have also been on the on line support, to try and find out how much traffic i have been getting the last couple of days and the person didn't asnwer my questions - they just said that they were closing the session. BiologyMad Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 I have now paid to upgrade the account (along with the other payment on the 22/11) to get my website working. One suggestion to TCH is that you email clients when they are approaching their bandwidth limit - it is frustrating when one finds that they can not access their site with no forewarning. I have been with TCH for nearly 1 year and have never had any problems apart from this one - TCH has been great until now. Overall you all have been very helpfull, however, you need to reassess the way people can upgrade their accounts. This has occurred to me twice this year when I have upgraded (earlier in March and now) where i have paid twice in one month for the one account, and I have never been reimbursed. Quote
TCH-Andy Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 An email is sent at 80% to the contact email address set up in cpanel. If the email address there is incorrect, or you have spam filters on it, then you may miss that automatic email. Otherwise, you should recieve warning. Quote
BiologyMad Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 Well i definitely did not recieve any warning email. I do not have spam filters, and the address is not incorrect as I have recently recieved other emails from TCH ie billing info and info about the recent change of servers. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 (edited) Just a question that might solve it. I don´t know if you entered your domain adress in the contact area in cpanel. But its generally good to not enter it as contact adress in cpanel, instead it should be a hotmail, yahoo or something else. If you used the domain adress then that can be the reason for not receiving this since if its been a while since this warning was sent out and now its at 100% then there is not enough space or bandwidth in your account to receive it. BiologyMad Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 I use a different email address with TCH – Anyway, even if I was using my domain email address, I still should have received the 80% warning. Also, when I had apparently exceeded my bandwidth limit, I was still receiving emails through my domain name. I think it is appalling that TCH will not refund me. If I had known I was approaching my bandwidth limit, I would have restricted the usage on my site (by adding in password pages to where people could download information) for the last couple of days until the new month had started. Now I have paid twice for the one month - this has happened to me before, and I am not happy. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 While I understand you may have a problem there is nothing we can do for you in these forums. The forums are not for one on one support, they are for members to help other members and for TotalChoiceHosting to notify customers of any issues. You need to conatact billing by calling 810-245-6820. Phone support is limited to 11AM - 2PM EST Monday through Friday. You can also submit a ticket to Billing via the helpdesk. Quote
Madmanmcp Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 BiologyMad, hopefully you have the problem straightened out and I see your web site is back up. If I had this happen to me once before I would pay closer attention to awstats and watch the bandwidth myself. Now after seeing that your site was online something caught my eye and hopefully bandwidth will be your only problem. You might want to read this other thread, it may help avoid other issues. http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...indpost&p=59393 Quote
