youneverknow Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Just Curious if people using gmail are using all that storage space. I back up all my recored collecton files to my gmail account. Also have some mp3's that I can listen to any where. Is any one else doing this or are you using gmail primarily for email? Youneverknow Quote
Deverill Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Since I've gotten my gmail account I've forwarded everything there and to my "main" account. I figure I'll use Gmail as an archive and I can keep the other one cleaned out. As such I have used 5% so far. I'm also experimenting with how much spam gets thru and how well they catch it. I've been there since June 15 by the way. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I've had it for about four months now. I don't use it much since I have so many other accounts. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Bout 17% on one account that is basicly my backup of my work e-mail and 0% of my other account that is all e-bay Quote
TCH-Don Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Only about 2% but I am starting to use it more and more. I love the threaded view of replys. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I use it mainly as archive or if someone wants send large attachements etc. So far 4% or 8 mb, but I just started to archive so I figure it will become more soon. It will be interesting to actually find out how much in mb that I have stored in other places so far. Quote
arvind Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 I've used it lightly the past few months and upto 3%. When GMail introduced POP3, I've made that my main account so I'll be using that a lot more from now on! I don't really use GMail as an online drive like some people because I have VNC and stuff installed that will allow me to grab files off my home computer wherever I am in the world (my home computer is on 24/7 heh) Quote
TCH-Rob Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I have forgotten that I even have the account. I am at 0%. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I have forgotten that I even have the account. I am at 0%. Pm me your adress and I can send you as many 10 mb files needed to get you up to 100% Quote
zephyrthelost Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 After multiple attempts to remember my password, I found that I am storing my welcome email from the gmail team in my account. That's about it Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 from gmail help If you don't log in to your account for an extended period of time, we'll mark it 'dormant.' After nine months, Google deletes all messages in the account, closes it, and recycles the username. Other free web-based email providers delete dormant accounts after as few as 30 days. To recover your password, click the 'Forgot your password?' link on the login page. Enter your Gmail email address (username@gmail.com) in the appropriate field Quote
ChicoLance Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 I've been experimenting with Gmail, and I really like the threaded replys and quick response times. The show killer is that the From: must be from gmail.com. I've got my domain, and I only want people to know about "lance@orner.net". I may read the mail from TCH, Yahoo, or Google, but the user shouldn't know or care. --Lance Quote
TCH-RobertM Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I tried to get a gmail account months ago and never heard anymore about it are they passing them out yet ? or does anyone have one they want to give away I feel like Leonard Nimoy In Search ....the infamous GMAIL Quote
