Wow!!

How are they affording this?

I mean, the 1 GB space... I suppose disk space these days is cheap, so they can afford to do that... but eliminating ads means their only source of revenue is gone... and pop3/smtp access isn't free either....

Google rocks :)

Well I wonder if Microsoft will change their minds? They announced recently that Hotmail accounts would not be available in the future for Outlook and Outlook Express users. Now gmail is offering just the opposit....Way to go GOOGLE...I can't wait for my account to go POP!!!!

Yes Google is Rocking and their stock will probably go up a few points.

Youneverknow

Since I started using firefox with the gmail extension,

I don't need pop3 for gmail,

I know right away if I have mail

and just click on the gmail icon to open a new window to see my email. :)

Seems like I don't yet have this feature, yet. They're probably going to put ads in the email.

Anyways, sounds great, though I already had my own solution by forwarding it to my Yahoo account which has POP3.
