AlanV Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Wow!! How are they affording this? I mean, the 1 GB space... I suppose disk space these days is cheap, so they can afford to do that... but eliminating ads means their only source of revenue is gone... and pop3/smtp access isn't free either.... Google rocks Quote
youneverknow Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Well I wonder if Microsoft will change their minds? They announced recently that Hotmail accounts would not be available in the future for Outlook and Outlook Express users. Now gmail is offering just the opposit....Way to go GOOGLE...I can't wait for my account to go POP!!!! Yes Google is Rocking and their stock will probably go up a few points. Youneverknow Quote
TCH-Don Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Since I started using firefox with the gmail extension, I don't need pop3 for gmail, I know right away if I have mail and just click on the gmail icon to open a new window to see my email. Quote
bl4nk Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Seems like I don't yet have this feature, yet. They're probably going to put ads in the email. Anyways, sounds great, though I already had my own solution by forwarding it to my Yahoo account which has POP3. Quote
boxturt Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I just tried it and there are no ads in the mail. I don't trust it Quote
DarqFlare Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Hmm.. Awesome. Good stuff. I didn't know Hotmail wouldn't be available in Outlook anymore. Odd. Good thing I'm switching. Quote
