michéal Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 I am definitely convinced that search engines rank you better if you are not .info domain. I could be wrong but that is my experience. I know of other sites with .com names who rank better under the same keywords and are less time on the net. I dont know, perhaps I am just paranoid. Anyone else have similiar problems. Quote
Deverill Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 I have no experience with .info domains but I do know that with Google the links to your site and the words usedfor them makes more difference than the keywords. My gut feeling is that there would be no "penalty" for .info but I have no evidence that is true. Which engines are showing the different results - is it mainly Google or are they all doing that? TCH-Dick Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 I don't think it has any thing to do with what domain extension you use. What keywords are you trying to improve results on? Take a look at the top 5 keywords for your main page. >Word Frequency % new 15 10.41 listing 13 9.1 nbsp 12 8.44 clonmel 6 4.49 the 5 3.83 You should consider adding more content to that page and getting links to your site. I did a search for other sites like yours and at least one has a link section. Just send them an email, the worst that could happen is they would say no. Quote
