sanitsoft Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I really expect two things from a host. They should stay up and they should have back-ups. My current host apparent host isn't of the same mind set as me, though. They had a hard-drive failor and it deleted my account and everything on it. They had no back-ups. They didn't even tell me what happened until two days later when I tracked them down. Mistakes happen. I dealt with loss. The problem was that their reaction was, "I'm sorry. It's not in our relm of guarantees, though. Have fun rebuilding." My question to you is if you offer any kinds of guarantees. As I said, mistakes happen, but it's nice getting the feeling that your host actually cares about you. Just something like, "Gee. I'm sorry. Here, have an extra bandwidth for this month," would be good. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Im just a customer but as far as I know TCH do not have any guarantees where you will get your money back or other compensations when servers are down etc, but I and many more can guarantee you that TCH do care for their customers. Yes, there is problems sometimes, but all companies have those, but with TCH they are solved quickly. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 We make no guarantees about server uptime, however we do have VERY good average uptime 99% or better. We also do weekly and monthly backups of all customer sites with copies kept onsite AND offsite. The only guarantee we offer is if you are not happy with the service, cancel within 30 days for a full refind. Quote
AlanV Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 The only guarantee we offer is if you are not happy with the service, cancel within 30 days for a full refind. But you won't be unhappy with the service Quote
DarqFlare Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 I'd just like to add a point here... I think your old host wasn't very good in the fact that they had 0 backups whatsoever, but it is also the website owner's responsibility to backup their website locally every so often. Things happen. Anyway, I hope you decide to stick around here at TCH! Good luck! Quote
TCH-Don Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 Welcome! Not sure if you have cpanel on your site, but if so, the techs may be able to copy your site over to here for you. And as you see we have a forum where customers can talk to each other, that says a lot about Totalchoichosting If you have any more questions, please ask, we love to help! Quote
