First, I'd like to let Mr. Maintainer of the FAQ know that I searched the help pages before posting this! :D

Is it possible to have somebody else doing my web site maintenance and give him FTP permissions to make changes, but not give him access to the whole whole site cpanel? I see how to give access to subdirectories, but not the whole site.

Thanks!

Good question!

No, I don't have a good answer. But don't worry ... as soon as someone provides a good answer, I'll have it posted on the Help site!

You can create a new FTP account and specify what folder you want this person to have access to, this would give the designer access to say your /design folder but nothing else. For example, I gave KW access to the /public_html folder thus he is able to maintain the help site, however he doesnt have access to the master password or cpanel.

They also would not have access to your cpanel.

I hope that answers your question, I am working on about three hours sleep over the past two days :0

OK, so that's basically what it says in the help when you add an FTP account.

The problem is, since everybody's private FTP directories go under the public_html directory, that gives the web designer complete access to all private ftp accounts as well! Admitedly, I didn't make this portion of my question clear in the first post -- sorry.
