amansker Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 How can I delete spam identified by SA? I dont' want to see it, ever. I'm aware of the potential consequences, just not applicable in this case. Quote
TCH-Andy Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Enable SA to rewrite headers - so that it writes *****SPAM***** in the header Then in cpanel, set up an email filter - if the Header contains *****SPAM***** then "Discard" That way you should never see it again Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Right from the add filter page: Hint: To filter all mail that SpamAssasin has marked as spam, just choose "SpamAssassin Spam Header", "begins with", and then enter "Yes" in the box. Create the filter this way set to discard and you do not have to set Spam Assassin to rewrite the headers. Just another way of doing it. Nothing wrong with the way Andy says. Quote
amansker Posted August 27, 2004 Author Posted August 27, 2004 Perfect! I never clicked on Add Filter. Thanks. Quote

"It says Blacklist from" Do I need to enter a email adress here or is "Sm11" enough? Why I ask is that I get many emails from a Sm11 but with different emailadresses all the time. Quote
Alan Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Hmm lol - SA seems to not catch most of the spam to my mailboxs. I have taken a new method - I am blocking all @domain.com of people who send me spam - like that apsdjuf.com mess lol. More of those domains seem to be poping up every single day and spamming. Could I be missing a step to enabling my SA somewhere which would be why I still get alot of spam? Or is it basicly SA just doesnt recognize most of it? P.S. Not topic highjacking - just didnt feel like making a new topic when this one matched it soooo welll. lol Quote
jweltz Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Could I be missing a step to enabling my SA somewhere which would be why I still get alot of spam? Or is it basicly SA just doesnt recognize most of it? For me, it just took a bit of time to set the aggressiveness of SA. By editing the config through cPanel, I set the number of hits to 4.2 (Detects most spam that comes in and re-writes the header to indicate it as such) Sometimes it tags a legit message, such as Aunt Mary's 30x forwards to everyone in her address book, but I consider those spam anyway. rfrassetti Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I too have much spam getting past spam assassin and making it into my inbox. I have tried lowering the aggressiveness and am now down to "1" but still as much junk gets into the inbox as goes into the spam folder. I basically know NOTHING about using spam assassin other than setting the aggressiveness number, is there something else I can do to make it catch more of the junk that comes in every day? Thanks in advance for any help! Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I would open a ticket with the help desk and ask if they can restart the spam assissin service for you. This has worked for me. Link in my signature. Quote
