ryanscottottney Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I'm having a wierd problem with my e-mail. I send out press releases and such, so every now and then I need to do a mass-mailer. I've never had a problem with it until recently, when I've started getting error messages that say: "SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR ERROR - TOO MANY RECIPIENTS" Now here's the thing ... I have like four e-mail accounts running on Outlook, and all connect to TCH mail servers, and I get this same error on ALL accounts, not just on one! I'm running Microsoft XP, AOL connection, and I send an average of 10-12 emails per day, spread across the four servers, which include: ryanscottottney.com (server 16) scrypticstudios.com (server 63) mediasharx.com (server 27) sciotospiritseekers.com (server 40) I've never had a problem until last week, and now it just won't let me send out emails with multiple recipients. I mean, it will let me do 3 or 4, but not anything major ... like 25-30 (which is what my PR list usually does). What should I do? Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I dont know if this might be it, but TCH has a limit of 50 recipients per 300 seconds (5 mins). Quote
TCH-Rob Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 You might want to open a ticket. 25 or 30 shouldnt be an issue. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 AOL could be the problem. Rate Limiting Connections America Online Inc. imposes a rate limit on an AOL member when a member exceeds the acceptable number of email messages sent in a given time period. This includes AOL members sending mail via a third party program. (ie; Outlook, Eudora, etc.). Please visit AOL Keyword: Rate Limiting to learn more http://postmaster.info.aol.com/ipt/ Quote
ryanscottottney Posted August 27, 2004 Author Posted August 27, 2004 I dont know if this might be it, but TCH has a limit of 50 recipients per 300 seconds (5 mins).I don't THINK I'm exceeding that. Like I said, the email list is only 25-30 people. And if I send any other e-mails within the five minutes before or after my mailing list, it's usually only one or two people. So I think I'm still safely within that limit. Good to know, though. You might want to open a ticket. 25 or 30 shouldnt be an issue. Sorry. How do I open a ticket? I thought this was where I go to open a ticket. I've never posted here, so I really don't know where to go, sorry. AOL could be the problem. That's actually a strong possiblity, because I only recently began using AOL, as an interim connection until my normal ISP fixes my account. And this problem began after I switched to AOL. Quote
woesap Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Ryan, Look in the top left corner for help desk or click the following link: Supportdesk You need your account info to make the ticket. Good luck Quote
TCH-Rob Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Sorry. How do I open a ticket? I thought this was where I go to open a ticket. I've never posted here, so I really don't know where to go, sorry. At the top of every forum page there is a link called "Help Desk" under the Total Choice logo. Here is a link to the Help Desk as well. Seeing as you are using AOL though, the help desk may not be able to resolve the issue if it has anything to do with what TCH-Dick has pointed out. Edit: I didnt even notice Richards post. Dont mind me, I am not all there. Quote
