dieguy Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 Last night I messed something up. I somehow deleted my public_html folder, TCH saved the day big time by getting back with very little loss. But now I checked my cpanel and my site is 100mb bigger even tho I am deleting things to reduce size. I am even over my limit. I was curious if TCH might of had to add something to bring it back. The only thing I can find is my site is in the public_html folder and the same thing is in a www folder. Hope someone from TCH can figure this out so I can reduce my size. Rock Sign Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 Have you looked above the public_html folder for a backup file backup-something.tar.gz Sounds like you need to reopen the ticket and ask for help. Quote
musicfrisk Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 what exactly does this www folder do? where did it come from (I don't recall it being there previously) and is it useless or what is now being used instead of public_html???? Some clarification here would be appreciated. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 the www folder is the same as the public_html folder, it has always been there Quote
Deverill Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 By "the same" Mike doesn't mean the same content but rather the exact same files. It's like looking into your house through 2 different windows - it may look like two sofas in there but it's just two ways to look at the same sofa. What this means is that your files only physically exist one time and they only count against your disk space quotas one time. Quote
DarqFlare Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 Think of www as a shortcurt to public_html Like the shortcut to My Computer in Windows. It's not really the executable, just a shortcut to it. Quote
