Guest Vedat Gurtan Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 I would like very much for totalchoice supporting another port number other than port 25 for those ISP's blocking port 25 for outgoing e-mail. Regards, Vedat Gurtan Quote
Ayman_ Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 At the moment we do not plan any changes to the port assignments. If we do I will update you. Thanks Ayman Quote
KevinW Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 Someone correct me if I'm wrong ... but it's not required that you use the TCH server for outgoing email. Yoiu can just as easily configure your email client to use your ISP's server for outgoing email. --kw Quote
Lianna Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 Exactly KW. I use my ISP's outgoing mail server because they do block port 25 to outside mail servers. Never had a problem. Lianna Quote

ZeroGravX Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Does anyone have any idea how to configure to outgoing if your ISP is MSN??? When I hade Earthlink it worked fine, but now when I use MSN's outgoing server I can't I tried contacting there support but the best solution was "Just use your MSN e-mail account and use MSN 8" And no matter what I asked that was there suggestion so now I have to use Outlook to download my messeges and use webmail to send, wich is a pain So if anyone has MSN and has there Outlook or Outlook Express configured, please let me know!!! ZeroGravX Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Hmmmm thanks very much for the help but it still didn't work even though I AM a MSN subscriber just like always. I acctually tried that before and that's why I contacted the support. * ZeroGravX continues to dislike MSN untill he can cancel his account in November Quote
Lianna Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 ZeroGravX, Could you be more specific about what does not work? What error message are you getting? When you follow their directions (link provided graciously by Larry), what happens? If you can be as specific as possible, that would help us. Lianna Quote
ZeroGravX Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 Oh I'm very sorry. I followed the instructions that are on the MSN support site, and when I try to send a messege a login window pops up (the problem is in sending only). Then when I enter the info, it just keeps popping up wanting a login and password even though I am using the correct login. I even tried it with and without the @msn.com on the username. The error I get it this when using mail.gravityxzone.com (if I use the msn outgoing mail server I just get the login window nonstop)... The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'ZeroGravX', Server: 'mail.gravityxzone.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10051, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E This is clearly the blocked Port: 25, I'm seeing no way passed this as long as I'm with MSN, I'm in a contract till November by the way When I had Earthlink, it work like a charm, no errors at all Quote
Larry Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 last time i used earthlink back in july, i had to use earthlinks outgoing mail servers.. they blocked other servers.. Quote
