Zach Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 I created a subdomain http://portfolio.zachrosing.com, then I created http://newhopevbs03.portfolio.zachrosing.com. The first one worked immediately but the second one still won't come up on my side and its been about a day. Does anyone know if these sub-subdomains actually work? Can someone try that site and see if it comes up? I'll keep waiting (cPanel says it can take a while) but normally they start working for me immediately. I've made several others and none of them work either. thanks zach Quote
LisaJill Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 To my knowledge, only one level of subdomains is supported. Quote
Zach Posted May 13, 2004 Author Posted May 13, 2004 Well, yes cPanel does support it--it appears as if it will let me do domain.after.domain.after.domain.zachrosing.com if I want to. It just doesn't actually work... Quote
TCH-Rob Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Lets rephrase it a little then. We do not support it. You can only have sub.domain.com. Sub.sub.domain.com will not work here. Quote
DarqFlare Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Here's the best way to put it: CPanel supports the ability to make sub.sub.domain.ext TCH does not, despite the fact that CPanel does. This is the same situation as CPanel supporting the hack-prone Form Mail, whilst TCH has disabled it. Just trying to one-up you, Rob. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 And to think oh ye of same name, I was going to help fund your car repair. One upping me has negated that. Quote
Madmanmcp Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 And to think oh ye of same name got confused there for a second, but then realized there were two other "Roberts" in this thread. Should have known better since I go by BoB anyway Quote
DarqFlare Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 And to think oh ye of same name, I was going to help fund your car repair. One upping me has negated that. lol... I dunno, I might receive more satisfaction from one-upping you rather than getting my car repair bill paid earlier... Yeah, we have a plethora of Roberts around here... We need our own Forum. Quote
Boojum Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 "A plethora of Roberts," you say? That reminds me of the time I visited a friend of mine a few years ago. There were seven people in the living room. Of that total, four of us were named Brian. Ah, the joys of having a ludicrously common name. Quote
DarqFlare Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Four out of seven! lol! I work with another Robert, there's a student named Robert that comes in from time to time, and on Fridays a security guard called Robert comes by... I work at a Community College. lol Quote
Boojum Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 I work with another Robert, there's a student named Robert that comes in from time to time, and on Fridays a security guard called Robert comes by... I work at a Community College. lol Would this be Robertsville Junior College near the community of Robertsville, Liberia? Quote
DarqFlare Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 No.. Community College of Southern Nevada. There's also a Robert that manages a lab at another campus. Quote
Madmanmcp Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 well it gets confusing around my house on an hourly basis. I'm BoB most of the times and Bobby to my old friends. My oldest is Bobby and his best friend is Bob My next door neighbor is Bob (Rob) and his son, my youngest sons best friend is Bobby and my sons godmother is Bobbie the famous word around here is "what" echoed several times when our name is called:) Quote
DarqFlare Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 My grandfather is Robert too... :-p But my family call him and I Bob (And it bugs! AHH!). Gotta love the name. Quote
