Good thing this is open discussion eh? Anyway - my wife works with a lot of seperate computerized services eg: Lottery, Western Union and things like that. That and of course her main work things which come out of Boston (I'm in Connecticut)

She never has trouble with these and certainly not at the same time. Monday everything went wacko on her. Monday it got real hot here for the first time.

Also that same day I could do my banking - at two different banks due to computer problems. Nor could I get any billing help from the hospital located 20 miles away.

Just seems odd that it would all happen at once, in various locations, the only common denominator (that is obvious to me) being the sudden and drastic change in local temperatures.

BTW - things still haven't changed and are still not quite right yet.

Yea, yea - I'm wierd - but I already knew that

What is probably going on is a Major network outage. I understand there was something going on in the Northeast a short time ago, a major line was cut and caused lots of troubles.

The types of temperature changes we experience will not cause that kind of problem unless it was a comedy of errors. For instance, maybe the increase in ambient temperatures drove a flaky air conditioner over the edge at a network hub so it failed and the hub went out. The equipment is usually air conditioned and the wires don't care about heat. Otherwise there'd be no networks in Vegas and Robert would be a ghost here. :)

Generally, any problems from weather (such as a sudden heat wave, or increase in temperatures) are going to be related to power. Such as everyone turning on their air conditioners causing a surge of demand on the power stations from the norm, and the power stations having trouble matching the change in demand.

Although, I think in your case, Madmanmcp's response it more likely the reason.
