  3. I agree with both of the suggestions above. I have several of the "...for Dummies" books and still refer to them often!

  7. Are all 30 managed using Frontpage? You may want to look into other programs that are more standards-friendly than Micro$oft. For example, Nvu may help you out. It is similar to FP, so there won't be as much of a learning curve. And the best part of all...it's FREE! I've used FP in the past, but mainly as a learning device to learn HTML and how web pages are created and developed. Once I felt kinda comfortable, I dropped it in favor of other applications that work just as good, but adhere to W3C standards. While I didn't have as many sites as you, I don't recall having any major issues while I was using FP. As previously mentioned, describe the problems you're having for us...there may be someone else out there who has had the same thing happen to them.

  10. Well, I've followed pretty much most of them anyway. About all one can do is go with what the Joomla! pro's suggest and create backups...just in case!

  18. Hopefully someone else more knowledgable than I will correct me (and then we both will know), but it appears that it will not support any other character set other than english. I'm assuming this is because of the character set on the server it self...not your computer. As a possible solution, you might want to name your files something like os1-25-07 and forum1-25-07. That way you would know which database is which and the date you made the backup. Please don't give up on making backups. In the unfortunate situation where you need it, a recent back up could be a real time saver. I speak from my own experience! Hope this helps provide you with some insight.
