I wouldn't mind seeing that also, I have that on my other hosting provider. They have a lot of goodies, especially for cfm stuff. But unlike TCH I pay a pretty penny for all the extra goodies involving CFM and Streaming video support features. I love TCH! Rock Sign But I would like to see those things to if at all possible. I'm not complaing TCH, I'm just saying it would be a nice addon to the already abundantly overflowing bag of goodies TCH offers. Mav

If you can wait a little bit I'll be typing up a little tutorial. The script is actual quite a bit different than the what I listed before. And it grows as we speak now to incorporate all the script inserts. I'll be working on it this week and I'll make sure all the items work fully with out a problem before I send out the finished script. Be patient I'll have it completely functional real soon. Along with how to make everything work on TCH's servers and what functions can be used. Then all you'll have to do is cut and paste, then add your own touches.. Mav Kick Me

Oh, I wasn't sure what you talking about?

Ah, I recognize the format, I'm having JavaScript flash backs. Amazing how all coding is fundamentally almost the same structure. I'll have to fiddle with it and see what else I can come up with. I will still need to find a random script cycler for text, so I can insert random thoughts of insanity into a picture also. Oh yeah, the vision of it all "Man who stands on toilet, is high on Pot". eheh Off to the scripting dungeon I go! Kick Me Mav

I've figured out the format on the insertion now. Now how do I shorten the whole code of what it shows ".Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; NET CLR 1.1.4322). to just say IE 6 or something like that? Or is there an easier way? Any Suggestions? Mav

By George I've done it! I've figured it out, thank you Borfast for the extra tip on the .htaccess file info for spoofing the php with an image extension. I did not know that was possible, but as always, a new day = new discoveries!!! Now here is my only question I have left on this little scenerio. I've learned to figure some basic PHP in 5 hours but I'm no expert, so I want to know how in the text area of the script I'm suppose to call the Apache items needed to show that as the text on the image. How these and other functions fit into the code area below where the text would normally go? $http_referer $http_user_agent $request_uri $remote_addr ect...ect.... I'm assuming that's where they would go, some how just as the text, there is a way to make it print the info from those tags as text also. Which is how the vipersig from above is working. How do you insert php into that area I've marked in red? You can see a working example I just thru up on my server here. Test Image Warning, slightly nekkid Milla Jovanvich image from 5th Element. Once I understand a little more I'll attempt something like random quotes or something on an image. But one step at a time, first the calling of the server functions onto the image. TIA, Mav woooot

I have found the PHP portion that enables this feature, now I just need to figure out how the hell to use it. imagettftext So if anyone knows how to get this feature working, help us out please. I'll be fiddling with it until I can figure it out. Mav

Thanks, I just started working on the new Invision setup. It's a little daunting now that they switched things all around. I'm working on the changing the colors and the icons over now, hopefully in a week or two I'll have it all color matched with my main site. Okay, here is another question on this issue. I'm assuming TCH supports the GD and freestyle font things that are required to run the imagettftext portion. I'm just trying to figure out where in the code that the image I have would be inserted so that the text can write over top of it. I see where the script makes the dimensions and color selections, but where would I put my html/mav/somepicture.png link in to use that picture as the source to write the text over top of it? So if anyone has any solutions I'm open for them. Mav Head Bash

Submitted to correct forum! Oops! Head Bash

I basically found the head and footer in the html area of IVB, pasted my template in and added the required info into my website. I soon changed back to just a top header type orientation as it made a better fit with people running a screen of 800x600 much easier to read. Adding all that extra stuff on the side takes away valuable space. IVB pretty much put all the script and everything on the admin area under the site html and css area. It take a lot of digging around to get familiar with where every little piece is at, but you eventually find it. If you need any specific help just post your question, I'd be glad to try and help you out if I can. Mav Rock Sign

Okay, um, what is GD? Graphics ??????? what? Is it something like the imagemagic stuff where it takes the graphic and adds the file text into as a image file everytime the script is run? Mav Also, what would I look under when I go on my web looking spree. What key words should I look for to single out a script like this? Kick Me

Have you thought about getting a refurbed slightly newer computer for under $500 from like Tiger Direct or Ubid. I know you don't want to spend anymore money but it is a thought. Mav
-
Okay, but how do they do it? I do they post the info into the picture file like that and have it show up on the server? I see nothing but a picture file and that's it, nothing else. So obviously its a server side script that make the whole image but I don't see how it's doing. Any suggestions on this? Mav

I've run Norton for the last 4 years, and I've never received a virus on any of my five home computers. The Government computers and network where I used to work never got a virus either when running Nortons. Nortons autoupdates, and runs very nicely on XP and 2000. I have never had a problem, it's always stopped the virus before it had a chance to even think about doing anything. I also run Zonealarm and Notorns Firewall on the computers at home. I like both, they both work great to me. I do like the added level of control that Nortons Firewall gives me, but for simplicity you can't beat Zone Alarm. I also am very paranoid so I run a hardware firewall. Software is good, but hardware is the best for firewall protection. Mcafee, well, my opinion is it sucks! Sorry if it offends, but every friend or family member who has installed has had nothing but problems, not to mention they get viruses. Their update for software and virus is confusing to people. Mcafee just isn't a consideration in my book anymore. I have most all of my friends and family running Nortons products, so needless to say I don't receive any "Please come fix my computer I think I have a virus" phone calls anymore. There are other good progs out their but I like Norton and Zonealarm and think any combination of the two are perfectly fine choices. Mav

Nevermind, I found the html header and footer insert customization area. I just inserted the required tags and it all worked like a charm. Mav

Yeah that's what I thought, although I would like to note that sometimes it doesn't reconvert.... I'm sure Rick can confirm that one. Some of the folders wouldn't go back to the original status and he had to use a back up of my site. Craziest thing, I couldn't get the folders to change back at all, messed up my site. mav

What kind of folder needs an index, what folder do you set to the text or to the graphics and what one do you set to no index. Their must a set of rules governing what you should and shouldn't do, right? I want to protect my content from all out ripe pickings, and folder view makes that very easy in my picture galleries. But I run Gallerie and MT along with a few other things. I messed up the site once by index a few folders that apparently didn't take well to being set to no index. Mav

Is there any info on how to properly use the index manager? I tried using it the other day but ended up messing up a few things on my site. Thankfully TCH came to the rescue and restored my site for me. I understand Index Manager as being a way to stop people from viewing the folders contents. For example if a site had a www.mysite.com/images some would could just type that in and get a full list of the contents and download all the pictures or whatever might be in there. So, that being the case how do you know what to set the folders permissions to, and what things should you not do this to. Could you do this to your MT blog folder or Invision board folder, would this cause problems because things have to execute within there? That's all the questions for now, any info would be appreciated, Mav

Anyone have any tips or links on inserting invsion board with a site. I just want to have it within my site inside of a table or td. Is this possible and still have it function nice. I see it being done in Nuke right now but I haven't had the time to dig into the whole problem yet to figure it out. Hoping someone could save me a little time and point me in the right direction. TIA, Mav

Index Manager Messed Up My Site! Help!
Mav2u replied to Mav2u's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Ah, sanku berry Much! It is back and functioning now. I have no idea of what index managing did to make the site act like that, does anyone else have any clues? Maybe some one could tell me what not to index manage and what can be index managed. That might help me from making a mistake again. Once again TCH came through in RECORD TIME! Rock Sign Thanks a million, Mav Thumbs Up -
Index Manager Messed Up My Site! Help!
Mav2u replied to Mav2u's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
As long as the restore would be after 4am this morning that would be great, If not than anything from June 24th would be okay also if needed, not great but it's better than not functioning at all. Let me know what can be done. Thanks, Mav Note to self: Leave index managing alone for awhile! -

Copy that, I'll send one in now. -
I thought I'd go through like my other site and change some of the files with pictures to no indexing. I got carried away and tried a few other files to see what would happen. It locked out all the files, so I went back and set the files to the default sytem setting option. Now those folders seem stuck on fancying indexing (grahics) and refuse to go back to the Default system setting. Now my albums in my Gallery Photo albums don't work, they just 404 error out on me. Any one have any suggestions? I can see the thumbnails of each album but can't get into them anymore. Mav
