  1. Hi Vikki, I have run into may people who have taken images that they have found on the web thinking that the web is "free" and made those images their own, without regard to the rights to those images. This indeed would be wrong. Linking to other websites, as far as I know, does not violate any copyright, as long as you do not purport the material as your own (i.e. click here to see more of MY products ...) Linking to other peoples images is not good. The images become part of your website and are perpetuated as something you authored. In addition, linking to images on another website will use bandwidth from another person's resources. Copying text as well, word for word, without giving credit to the author and the source, thus making the content your own, would also be a violation. In your case if you are using unique product names and designs that were created and authored by another party, this could be a violation. Keep in mind that there are some exceptions to all rules and all rules have exceptions. These are VERY GENERAL guidelines. The thing to remember is that nothing is free and free to use on the web unless it is explicitly stated so ... and even then you should be looking for the catch! Good luck to you in your business endeavors!
  2. Hi nablusi, Honestly what you ask of us in these forums is a pretty tall order. The knowledge that you need to accomplish your task is: At least one web programming language (PHP and perl are both offered here at TCH) CGI (the interface between your program and web pages) mySQL (the database option offered here at TCH) SQL (Structured Query Language - the database communication language) And how to tie all these things together to make them work. If this is more of a long term goal for you, the best way is to start reading. I personally use many resources from O'Reilly publishers that offer a books that teach about all these items. I hope I'm not bursting your bubble. It's not an impossible task. It's just going to take time to read, learn and apply all that you want to know to accomplish these things. If you have specific questions or issues after you are engaged in your project, maybe then it will be easier for us to give you a more directed response. Good luck my friend! (PS - I should add that I don't know of a ready-made script that would accomplish what you are looking for. Possibly there is someone here who knows of one.)
  3. Welcome to the forums! There's lots to learn, and friendly people to help. Enjoy!
  4. Wow ... what a welcome! Sorry I haven't responded earlier. I didn't want to show my face until ... well ... I had a face (pic) to show. So now you see my poor attempt at using my webcam. I'll try to fix that up after some film comes back from developing (yes, I use film still ... PM me and I'll explain why). It's hard to match up to this good looking group of people! I'm looking forward to helping in any way I can. TCH has been great to me for over a year now and I'm proud to be with a group of people I already respect and have received help from myself. I'm usually always around in some capacity!
  5. Just as an FYI ... Most (maybe all) browsers use something called "cache" ... images, html, javascript, flash .... are all saved on their computer for future access if needed to bring the pages up more quickly. So even though you may disable the right-click, your images are stored on the hard drive of most visitors to your website.
