  3. Thanks Rob, both are very good points. I imagine any type of encryption wouldn't suit either....nah.
  4. Does anyone happen to know if there is a way to print a pdf from a website without actually displaying the file? I hope the question makes sense and that I have asked in the right spot. TIA a viable alternative would be to disable the "Saving" of the file... but I don't know how to do that either.
  5. That was something offered by CNET / Download.com. I guess now they offer an email list of updates, new stuff etc. I'll see if I can find something similar though. h*tp://www.download.com/1200-20-960126.html

  20. Thanks Rob, I appreciate it. Pretty neat, works well but might get weird for content that's always getting added/changed/removed. I almost think I need some sort of modified site search that delivers the page on demand. I dunno. Clueless As Usual In Naugahyde.......
  21. This has me stumped for many days. I'm pretty sure I've seen this but I don't remember where and I can't seem to get my head around it enough to figure it out. I would like to offer specific visitors the ability upon arriving at the site, enter a specific filename in a form field, click go and be taken straight there to that specific file. eg: go to h**p://****/some_folder/specificfile.html but all the visitor would type in is 'specificfile' I probably haven't posed this query very well and I apologize. Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  23. You can always instruct to use the "Right-click>>Save (target) as.... There is also a cool little program that will automatically display the names of the files and give you option to listen or download. I think it costs a few bucks but it's pretty neat h**tp://wimpyplayer.com/ I use it at naugatuckarts.org/choir.html
  24. Audio files don't compress as you might imagine. Don't be suprised if all you see is something like 60mb down to 59mb : a 1mb difference.
  25. I'm not sure exacty Thomas but here's a nice "golden goblet" tutorial which may work for you. *ttp://www.pspug.org/tutorial/html/tut8eff/gold-gob_v8.htm I should add that the tut's for V8
