:::Sigh::: I am so far behind on all these things. Thanks for the update Thomas.

My family has more than just one Dave.

Tim and I are going to have the same weather. But after 130 some odd days of no rain I am looking forward to it. We will get enough heat real soon so I am in no hurry.

The Bat! Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
TCH-Rob replied to TCH-Rob's topic in Software/Scripts/Other Alerts
No silly Thomas. I meant, when I was looking at me emails about security notices and comparing them with what we had posted in this part of the forums, I did not notice that it had already been covered. I am aware of the fact that I did post in the other thread now that it has been brought to my attention. You better stop picking on me, I am mailing you something this weekend and if you are not careful I just might keep it for myself. -
Silica, Those get me every time as well. Ours is pretty strict AND often fails. Nothing like trying to "work" from work.

I think this is something everyone will be happy with. If it is what I think it is, even I will enjoy it.

The Bat! Remote Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
TCH-Rob replied to TCH-Rob's topic in Software/Scripts/Other Alerts
Trying to up my post count. BTW, Thomas posted the first one. I must have missed it. -
The Bat! is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure in the application to perform proper bounds checking on user-supplied data before storing it in a finite-sized buffer. An attacker can exploit this issue to control program flow and execute arbitrary attacker-supplied code in the context of the victim user running the affected application.

And all over the world at that. Seems we Yanks don't have a choke hold on that department.

Awstats: Unwanted Referring Sites! :(
TCH-Rob replied to haejin's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
I agree with Don. I get a few of those every month as well as my logs showing people trying to access scripts that do not exist on my site. I believe much of it is automated and they just check their logs to see if they get a hit from something so they can use it for further use on their part. -
Hmmmmm, I am awake when Andy gets up. I just might have to see if I can force it from him.

Maybe I should change my name to Google. Think their lawyers would allow it?

I dont use Google because I AM Google! I find that I use http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess.shtml alot when I need to learn something new about htaccess. Steve is right though in a way. There are many resources geared towards teaching htaccess rules out there.

Whatever it is, it will happen "The Day After Tomorrow".

I use them because it makes me feel better. Most do ignore them but I figgure that if it helps in others then why not.
-
Haha! I just guess alot. What is Google?

Invision Power Board 2 Vulnerabilities

Thanks Thomas. -
Set up a redirect in cPanel of htaccess that sends anyone to /wp to your index. You are a smart cookie but if you need help let us know.
