  1. Looking in my error log history in CPanel, I see 2 crack files that different IP addresses are trying to excecute. The files are not there, because the attachment script disallows .phtml files... What I'm trying to find is if anyone knows of a way to automatically ban these IP addresses which are tying to execute the file w/o me having to check the log nightly? I've looked through my server and the fles do not exist anyware on the server so I'm not worried about them being executed...I just want to keep these hack attempts down.
  2. I am trying to figure out of there is a way to show new mail messages in a box on our website (ie kind of like google does on their customized page; or hotmail does on theirs). Some of my members have email accounts with our domain name. 1 member in particular cannot for the life of him understand how to click mail in Horde and then see his emails. I thought it would be cool if I could just display a logon box for these people and once they login it will show the new mail messages. Let me know if anyone knows how to do this with the current setup here at TCH. Thanks,
  3. If it's for your site you can create a print stylesheet. There is a good article here
  4. Just saw a post about a vulnerability in 2.0.16. Need to look in bbcode.php and Find: >[^ \"\n\r\t<] Replace with: >[^ \"\n\r\t\'\`\[\]<] http://www.nukefixes.com/ftopict-1705.html
  5. OK, I think you need to upgrade from version to version without skipping. (ie 2.0.11 to 2.0.12 to 2.0.13 to 2.0.14 to 2.0.15 to 2.0.16) Something might be missing in the jump from 2.0.11 to 2.0.16. Give that a try and see if you still have problems.
  6. That line is correct. If you commented any lines out be sure you used the /* */ around the code. I learned the hard way that // doesn't work. Maybe someone else will be able to assist you.
  7. Can you post your code for the viewtopic.php line 1111 and the line before and after it?
  8. Not sure if you figured this out yet, but you need to create a folder (install) in the root directory of your phpbb forums and then upload the update_to_latest.php and run from your site http://www.yoursite.com/install/update_to_latest.php. Once this script is successfully run be sure to delete the file. Hope this helps.
  9. Could you list a few of your bad experiences that haven't already been listed? I too am thinking about going this route and would like to know what to expect.
  10. Can someone assist me in how to patch this vulnerability? I must be missing something, cause I don't see the resolution.
  11. I added this to my .htaccess file today, because our site has used over 1 gig of bandwidth in 3 days. I don't really see any reason for it. So i am trying this code to display a small image in place of any hotlink images. And to put a 403 error for anyone trying to hotlink to any vids. I'm not very good at the rewrites; does anyone see any problem with this code? >#reduce bandwidth #redirect hotlinking to a small image RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?havocoffroad\.com [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$ RewriteRule \.(jpe?g|gif|bmp|png)$ images/broken_link.gif [L] # #block hotlinking of video's RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?havocoffroad\.com [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$ RewriteRule \.(mp3|mpe?g|mov|ra?m|wm[av])$ - [F]
  12. I test it a little, and got this much. Maybe it can help you some. It works, but it changes the domain name. Maybe this can get someone else on the right track. >RewriteEngine On Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.oldsite.* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.newsite.com/$1 RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^oldsite.* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.newsite.com/$1
  13. I've used something like this before for redirecting to a subfolder. I changed the code a little. See if this works. >RewriteEngine On Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.oldsite.* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.newsite.com/$1 RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^oldsite.* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.newsite.com/$1
  14. Our site has received several compliments on how fast members are able to download and upload videos. They have also complimented the speed at which the site loads. We couldn't do it without TotalChoice Hosting. I just wanted to pass along the praise, and let others who might be debating whether or not to host with TotalChoice Hosting. Best host I've found. I definitely recommend them. Great job guys.
  15. I doubled the max_execution_time to 600 through .htaccess and it the uploads are going through now. I don't know if the two are related or not...but I'm happy it's working now.
  16. It is the attachment mod for the forums that allows members to upload a video or image and it will then be displayed in the post. I also tried uploading it in CPanel, and it didn't work either. What is CPanel's limit? What max size would you suggest?
  17. I have changed the upload_max_filesize for php to 75MB, and have tried uploading a 32MB file, but after a while of uploading it displays "This page cannot be displayed". I've also changed the max_execution_time to 300. Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I might need to change? I've succesfully uploaded a 6.5 MB file with no problem. http://www.havocoffroad.com/phpinfo.php
  18. Awstats is more accurate and customizable. The two have very different amounts. Also, because a month or so ago, I purged the table in nuke. But mostly, because I want to get a unique count. Instead of amount of visits. TCH-Bruce thanks for the help with that one. I've been trying to figure that out for a few weeks.
  19. Not sure if this is the best place to ask or not, but I would like to know how to put the amount of monthly traffic (from awstats) on a page inside my public_html folder. I want to say something like " We have currently had xx unique visitors this month." Also, I have tried removing my ip address's from the awstats, but it always seems to be overwritten. Thanks for any help.
  20. 1. HavocOffroad.com 2. Havoc Offroad 3. Never Stuck, Just Delayed! You online source for offroad DIY articles and help. 4. Personal Community site for offroad enthusiasts. 5. Link is in the bottom footer of all pages.
  21. You can check out http://www.submitplus.com/freeprograms.php?b=top10 I've used it before, and seemed to get some bots crawling.
  22. The only problem I've seen so far with IE or Firefox is when the flash banner is displayed the "login/register" or "logged in as..." goes down and on top of the menu/modules links. I think most of our members use IE so for now unless any big problems are found, I'm going to leave it alone and work on some other details. Thanks for the info.
  23. OK! I think I finally got it working in IE and firefox. Give me some feedback and let me know if it checks out in your browser.
  24. I'll check that script out. I'm confused as to how allowing them to upload to my site is any different than allowing them to upload to a subdomain folder. My goal in having it in subdomains is to allow them to see just their files very easily. It's all still under my public_html so I don't see what the difference is. I'm not going to give them any ftp access or any ability to host webpages -- the page will just be an upload script and I'm going to make sure it only allows them to upload pics/video extension and no html. Also, I'm not sure...but wouldn't it be more secure if someone tried and successfully uploaded a file that gave them access to the domain -- wouldn't it only give them access to the subdomain?
