The 5 KByte for Logo & Html is really minimal. But yes, I have to find a way to reduce bandwidth for the image.

Honestly I like the prices of TCH, a virtual hosting that offer 20GB, cPanel, support, 750 MB/space, good network at only $5 is nearly a steal. I would never seek for something cheaper. And if it's going for business, then spending for example $200 x month would not be a problem, because in that case you need quality, support, good network, etc. But for a free server that offer just a file download, I can accept some little compromise on the quality (no fast network, no extra services, little support). I'm not looking for 300 GB bandwidth/month at $10 but at a hosting solution (for example) at around $60/month. I will try to get some income through advertising and selling products associated with the project. If after one year the income will cover a high percent of the server expenses GOOD! else probably I have to shut it down (the teramosaic project). This is the reason for a cheap solution, just for let survive a free personal site. Please understand my situation.

I also like TCH really much and I also have the same bandwidth problem, it's because my very new site www.teramosaic.com (and also my freeware program andreamosaic) is becoming more popular. I temporarly solved the problem but soon or later I need a solution that offer much bandwidth at a cheap price. I found the only solution is a dedicated server, even if I don't need all the features of it (just simple http, no cpanel, no php, no mysql is required). Too bad that TCH's servers cost $150 x month. Of course I will continue with TCH for my basic domain that I dropped to about 10 GB/month of usage. just my 2 cents.... (Note: actually I need about 10 GB/day)

Hello, I have to uploaded many files to my web server, so I want to use a ZIP file. But to do this I will double the size used on the web server. Can I do this? Actually I have 620 MByte free on the domain. My ZIP file have a size of 350 MByte, uncompressed its 370 MByte, so after uploading and uncompressing I will use 720 MByte, just for the time to cancel then the ZIP file. Can I do this or do I have to upload my files in little blocks? Thank You Andrea

Hi to all! Yesterday night I wanted to upload "some" files (13.000 files, total 250 MByte) to my webserver. But this morning my FTP client still did not finished his job. Soon I need to upload many more files (about 30.000) so I need an alternate solution. Is there a way to unzip or untar files (also zip/tar) directly on the web server? I gave a look at the file manager/backup manager but the file manager doesnt seem to have this functionality and the backup manager work only on the main directory. With ssh it would be easy... Can anyone help me?

Hello Bill, I'm sure that nobody "play" with the servers for fun. You guys are working well to provide the best possible service. That's why I am here. But It's a fact that my parked domain nr.1 "disappeared" from the ns1/ns2.totalchoicehosting.com DNS Server, and with both parked domains nr.1 and nr.2 the default mail address in the control panel changed from my email to the default value. And now I'm unable to set the correct default address for parked domain nr.2. (See ticket RAS-72946) And you can immagine that nobody is happy to see disappear his domain, and to receive emails like this: Something on the server was changed. In this case as you said it was probably the CONTROL PANEL update, its in any case an update that caused my domain to be down for many hours (until i discovered the problem). My thread was a SUGGESTION, why not sent out an email when a configuration change occurs?

Yes, sometimes it works well but other times it doesnt work. Now for example I'm unable to submit a ticket. Now I can read the list of tickets https://ssl.totalchoicehosting.com/supportd...tickets&_m=view but if I try to submit a new one or view an existing one then the page never show up....loong looong wait I think there is a problem with the server because my computer can't create the error message "Invalid SQL: Lost connection to MySQL server during query"

Hello, Yesterday someone played with my server91 and my two parked domains got misconfigured. One domain disappear from the DNS (ns1/ns2.totalchoicehosting.com) and the other no longer forward emails. Of course I would like that these problems NEVER OCCUR, but the suggestion is to send a mail whenever there are some changes to the server so I can check if everything is ok/up/running. I discovered this problems because some web user sent me a mail (I did not setup a external monitoring service on the parked domains) I'm happy that the servers have 99% uptime, but this is totally useless if my domain get misconfigured. I always have problems with the https://ssl.totalchoicehosting.com/supportdesk After login, I have several times very long timeouts, pages not viewing, etc etc. I thought that maybe the problem was with my browser (I tried with IE and Firefox) or with my ISP/connection. But now after a very long wait on the page https://ssl.totalchoicehosting.com/supportdesk/ I got the message: Invalid SQL: Lost connection to MySQL server during query Anyone else have similar problems? Actually with totalchoicehosting I (can) use FTP over SSH2 without any particular configuration. I am using securefx http://www.vandyke.com/products/securefx/

As Don said a simple <?php include("filename") ?> is all what you need. And it's a great solution. You just have to take care of the hyperlinks in the filename. If they are relative and you use the include code in php pages located in different directories then you will get broken links. I too love use Dreamweaver (not the templates) with PHP (& MySQL).
