  1. My two cents. The good: I like the way the Flash menu system works. It has a nice look. The bad: It's hard to tell when you're over a submenu item. The submenu links need to change color when you move the mouse over them (makes it look better too). The ugly: I personally find the Flash 'load' annoying. It would be ok without the initial load of the flash area (where it goes from from white to blue). As it is, it's distracting from the site. I have yet to test the site on a new browser that does not have Flash installed. Do you have a backup text menu below the flash object for people that don't use Flash? If not, I would suggest only using Flash for visual highlights, and not for navigation.
  2. Hi, I plan to purchase a reseller account to start my own hosting business. What I'd like to know is how much liability I'll have. I could register the business as a sole proprietorship but that would leave my personal assets completly open. Do the terms of use and disclaimers protect you enough or should I register the business as an LLC to protect my personal assets. What have people done in the past? Thanks for your help, Randy
  3. You can add "float:left" or "float:right" to the disclaimers CSS. This will cause the following content to rise up next to it. FYI: in Netscape, the upper right area has a large white box over the image (HM2.png). You could change it so that the div has HM2.png as a background image instead. Also, all I can see in the disclaimer is "disclaimer: humorous-conclusion.c" The rest is blank and the numbers on the calendar do not line up. This could be because you're missing a few ending </div>'s. Try sending your code through the W3C validators.
  4. Please keep us informed of your progress on this issue. I'd really like to know what to look for in the future if it happens to me.
  5. Just a note about using javascript to prevent right clicking... I use right click to navigate (open in new tab) - and I know I'm not alone. When I get to a site that prevents me from navigating it normally, I leave - no matter what the site may have to offer. You can't prevent someone from stealing your images but you can report them to the US copyright office if they refuse to stop using them after you've asked.
  6. Using text and images from someone elses site without permission violates US Copyright laws and is a Federal offense. This also includes, believe it or not, forwarding an email to someone else without permission of the emails original author. If they have already been asked to remove such material and refused, contact the US Copyright office at http://www.copyright.gov/
