I haven't actually looked at the docs since they switched versions. Good to know.
-
I just had to do this today and there was no problem. I just placed it in public_html and gave the guy the url to the doc.
-
ds, we are up to cpanel 6 now.
-
Nope, further down the list of advanced options there is one for turning on passive ftp "for firewalls and dsl users" so I don't think they are the same thing.
-
I sometimes have problems using IE on FTP sites unless I have "Enable Folder View For FTP Sites" unchecked in tools-internet options-advanced.
-
you are too good at this stuff.
-
yes, that is exactly what I thought. Anyone know of a simple and easy to install on TCH helpdesk script?
-
Not that I know of, it is odd, if you go to your site using http://ipaddress/~username your counter will not work, but using the domain will work. It is now the exact opposite of how it worked before you removed that .dat.
-
Lianna, I was actually trying to get a different helpdesk script installed, I wanted to compare them. I can't get either one to work import the tables right.
-
Yes, that is exactly what it is, and that is exactly what I need. Too bad there is an error in line 1.
-
I just had this one earlier today. Go into the counter code and delete this >.dat and it will work.

I have a script with the file ticketsystem.sql and it has a sql dump that I need to import into a MySQL DB. How do I do this? I tried to use restore but it isn't a gz file so restore wouldn't work.

installing from cpanel is easy, just click on bulletin board and tell it where to install. I think there is an issue with this though, try doing it this way and if you have a problem just open a help desk ticket. The support folks are usually pretty quick to help out.
-
ws-ftp from IPswitch is the one I like.
-
Gotta go with Lianna here, amember is really cool.
-
database servername is localhost if you install phpbb through cpanel it should automagically setup your MySQL database.
-
I saw that, but I don't like giving off that whole internet stalker vibe. I really don't want people to really get to know me.
-
no problem, how about you give me that model from your front page in exchange for the tip. She is very pretty.
-
Here is the one I use, got it from phpbbhacks. It works great and was pretty easy and straight forward to install. http://www.phpbbhacks.com/viewhack.php?id=152 The best part about it is that if you run into a problem the folks at phpbbhacks are more than ready to help. They have a great forum setup for this kind of help. I would offer to help you myself but I am not all that great with it myself and I would hate to hurt you more than help.
-
which one is it? I have one on my phpbb.
-
yeah, I just used file manager and did like it said in the instructions. It seems to work just fine for me, now I just need to decide when and how I wish to use it.

Awstats skiphosts and access log
shammer replied to Jimmy Legs's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Lianna, since the awstats config file is the only one we are changing permissions to and that file is recreated daily, wouldn't the updates for the software go through just fine and then we would only have to change the perms for a day to allow the new config file to be rewritten and then change the options then? Or would it be possible for us to just install it at the domain level rather than the server level? I love awstats but I do not want to have to redo the customizing every day. -
That's what I did. It will be worth it, trust me. By the way, don't forget to go to dmoz.org and submit your site there also.
-
doesn't the new MSN have the ability to tell you when an incoming call is taking place? It's been so long since I used dialup I can't think of anything else.
-
perfect, thanks. I wasn't opening it as a web, just as a page and that form field validation wasn't there.
