A wave across the big pond to all the folks in Sweden for lovely weather and good times on your National Day! Thomas - how is it celebrated, if you don't mind sharing? I think our National Day is probably the 4th of July, also called Independence Day. We celebrate it with local parades, family picnics and barbecues, band concerts and usually big fireworks displays at the end of the day. I live on one of the Great Lakes so a lot of activities around here are focused on sailing.

I'm at the other end of Ohio from Bruce and Bunni, up on Lake Erie. We had twice the normal amount of rain in May and some really violent storms during the last 2 weeks. Every river and stream has overflowed their banks and we've had non-stop flood warnings. Several tornadoes touched down and left a lot of damage in their wake. Fortunately the heavy damage totally by-passed Berea - just a lot of small debris from trees to clean up. We did have an 18 hour power outage during one of the worst storms, I can deal with that. Some folks lost their entire house. On the plus side, there's been no need for AC yet, but I'm sure that will change soon. June is starting out wet but there's a rumor we're getting dry weather this week. In the meantime, my roses are happy with the constant watering and putting on quite a show!
