  1. Okay, so Typo3 is now installed (after several problems) there are now a few config things that need resolving - one at a time I think. I am getting this error on imagemagik --- No ImageMagick install available It seems that there is no adequate ImageMagick installation available at the checked locations (/usr/X11R6/bin/, /usr/bin/, /usr/local/bin/) An 'adequate' installation for requires 'convert', 'combine'/'composite' and 'identify' to be available --- I have the typo3 installation in a folder, would this have any bearing on anything? I also need to tell it what version is installed, does anyone know this? thanks Andy
  2. I have used it (by accident) its all part of the CS suite. I must add that it was very easy to use and seemed very similar to photoshop. Although I would be much happier if they just let photoshop do it all and not have another program to learn (but they have their reasons). change of topic; Illustrator creates vector paths (as does freehand) but Photoshop has started to allow, what they call "shape layers" which puts 'useable' vector paths into photoshop (and not just clipping paths) my tuppence worth.
  3. I think there are probably two schools of users: those that use illustrator (who use photoshop) and those that use freehand (who like to use fireworks, but then use photoshop to get the real work done) So you can see where I stand then In my opinion Adobe won the race.
  4. I am experimenting with a few different systems and have come across typo3. I am trying to install this but the instructions say --- Run these commands as root: # chgrp -R <wwwserver> typo3_src-3.6.0/ <sitedir>/ # chmod -R g+w,o-rwx typo3_src-3.6.0/ <sitedir>/ --- how do I do this? Is it possible to use the terminal to get into my site? thanks. Andy (Oh, TCH-Lisa, I have just tried pMachine which was VERY simple to install but looks limiting on first sight, I'll maybe try the demo of EE later).
  5. Has anyone tried to install this? thanks. Andy
  6. Quick question. I already have www.samehostname.co.uk as a main domain, but would like to add a new domain name such as www.samehostname.??? and aim it to a different folder as you could with a subdomain. Just a thought really? Does this go against the rules? If I wanted another domain name does it work out cheaper to get another starter account or is there a different option? thanks. Andy
  7. Good idea, I will contact them. It's not a big issue but just annoying. thanks.
  8. I'm back with another easymoblog issue. www.bloggit.busybea.co.uk I have noticed that any new entry sent to this site will have the time stamp different to the time it was entered. I'm guessing that it's taking on the server time (not in the UK) Is there anything I can do about this, or will it be a problem with easymoblog? This seems a very nice little programme, has anyone come across anything better that is as simple? thanks for any comments. Andy.
  9. okay, what do I say. Me and permissions just don't work. So the string should have been php /home/username/public_html/easymoblog/batch/easymoblog_batch.php but then I should have made sure the permissions were right. TCH staff... what can I say? A BIG thank you Andy
  10. Okay, so I've got a bit further now, the cron should have been: php /home/username/public_html/easymoblog/batch/easymoblog_batch.php but now I get this error --- error --- Content-type: text/html X-Powered-By: PHP/4.3.8 <br /> <b>Warning</b>: main(/home/busybea/public_html/easymoblog/include/param.inc.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in <b>/home/busybea/public_html/easymoblog/include/config.inc.php</b> on line <b>3</b><br /> <br /> <b>Fatal error</b>: main(): Failed opening required '/home/busybea/public_html/easymoblog/include/param.inc.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in <b>/home/busybea/public_html/easymoblog/include/config.inc.php</b> on line <b>3</b><br /> --- any ideas? anyone? thanks. Andy
  11. sorry, I only have an msn account I'll see if I can get one of yours. Andy
  12. I'm afraid I'm now getting: /home/busybea/public_html/easymoblog/batch/easymoblog_batch.php: ?php: No such file or directory /home/busybea/public_html/easymoblog/batch/easymoblog_batch.php: line 2: syntax error near unexpected token `@ignore_user_abort(true)' /home/busybea/public_html/easymoblog/batch/easymoblog_batch.php: line 2: ` @ignore_user_abort(true);' When I type the url for the php file something seems to work and the blog is updated. Do you think its some other setting I've gor wrong? thanks. Andy
  13. That worked great. but now I have another problem. I need to add a cron: /public_html/easymoblog/batch/easymoblog_batch.php to run every 5 mins (til it works, and then 30 mins once it is working) but I keep getting: error /bin/sh: /public_html/easymoblog/batch/easymoblog_batch.php: No such file or directory what am I doing wrong? thanks. Andy
  14. I am trying to install easymoblog to try and am having trouble with some of the questions they need for setting up. Where can I find: mySQL host name (or IP address)? I keep getting the error Error connecting to mySQL server (check mySQL connection parameters) Error selecting database (check database name) Has anyone else tried this? thanks. Andy
  15. Thank you all for filling these in. I woke to find a mail box full of replies. Still lots more to go. Does anyone know of ways to get more people to fill this in? I have looking at trying to add it to a search engine etc, but it all seems very difficult. thanks. Andy
  16. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I was hoping to get some feedback on a questionnaire I have put together. http://www.question.busybea.co.uk (I have had to put the form up at demon.net as I am still working out how to make it work through TCH - it looks like it should be easy but I was in a bit of a hurry). Thanks in advance for anyone who can spare 5 minutes to fill this in. Andy
  17. I'm going to keep quiet with my page rank of 0 Andy
  18. I think I get the idea, so I will have to go and play with it to see if I really get it. I'll tell you how I get on. thanks for now. andy
  19. I have set up a blog site (well nearly) using moveabletype, and as this sits in a folder called /mt/ I have to specify the path as www.domain.co.uk/mt/ to be able to access it. I guess I can set-up a link so that I can use www.blog.domain.co.uk but once it has redirected it is back to www.domain.co.uk/mt/ is there any way to hide the tru path and just show www.blog.domain.co.uk thanks in advance. Andy
  20. Success, the line in the ens was CGIPath http://domainname/mt/ thank you all andy
  21. Sorry, I'm not really moving anywhere on this. This is the line I have in the config file CGIPath /home/busybea.co.uk/public_html/mt but I'm still getting the error. Any more clues? thanks
