Not true, you are being hit with an automated dialer and when you answer your call is routed to the next available marketing agent. Get yourself a Tele-Zapper which will eliminate most of these calls as soon as you pick up the receiver or your answering machine does. Also get your number on the national do not call list.

It's just policy for the techs to handle the install. The function in your control panel is disabled.

If you are forwarding to hotmail you will be sending from hotmail and not your domain. Go into Options in Hotmail then Mail then Message Replies. Set your reply-to address to your domain address.

The dbsender script is documented on what needs to be changed. If you have problems start a thread and ask for help. I backup 4 databases every night and have them emailed to a special address. Here is a quick rundown of what you need to do. Create a folder at the same level as your public_html folder in your web space - call it what ever you like Change the permissions of the folder you just created 770 Edit the dbsender script (see details below) and place it in this folder - if more than one file is to be backed up rename the script file - one script file required per file Set up a cron job to run the script Edit this section of the dbsender script for your use I've bolded what you need to edit for email: A sample cron job entry would look like this: >/usr/bin/php -q /home/your-cPanel-name/folder-you-created/script-name-to run

Incoming is 110 and outgoing is 25 if that doesn't work try 26.

Well you can start by reading this forum thread and the threads it references.

What are you wanting to back up? The entire site? Databases? You can backup your databases using a script called dbsender and have them emailed or FTP'd to you.

vBulletin also costs money which people don't want to spend just to have a small community.

In cPanel you go to the backup function, browse for the file on your hard drive and upload it. If you are restoring a file you just backed up I wouldn't expect to see any changes.

When you tried the cPanel method were you accessing it with https? Have you tried http://yourTCHdomain.ext/cpanel? Make sure your FTP client is set to passive FTP to connect.

I don't know why Sony does it either. This is the second Sony I've bought and they both have a 16GB C partition. The Sony laptop had a larger C partition than the two desktops did. Strange indeed. The machine is over a year old. Maybe they have changed their ways since. I'll get a copy of PM and expand it.

Bob, I had a problem with one of the hotfixes too but that was long ago and been resolved. You are right that I don't have any issues (at the moment). I've purged and moved everything I can move to my D partition. I have plenty of space on another partition and I've moved everything I can move. Guess Rob's solution to get a copy of partition magic and resize my C drive partition would be the best option. Gotta love Sony throwing in a 160GB hard drive and partitioning a 16GB C drive and the remainder to D with the exception of their recovery partition. We all know when you install a piece of software everyone wants to write into the Windows folder (DLL's INI and other misc files) regardless of where the application is installed. Thus the lack of space on the C partition.

The files Micro$oft update leaves hanging in the Windows folder (files beginning with $NtUninstall....) how long do you need to keep those? Are they safe to delete? I only have 14% od free space on my "C" partition and the Defrag utility says you should have 15% each time I run it. Those uninstall files are eating up over 190MB of disk space. It's doubtful that you would ever uninstall a hot patch after a while so how long should they be kept?

Could have something to do with files being uploaded to Coppermine and not owned by the user account but instead by "nobody". If so the usage being stated would never be correct. PHP upload scripts usually put the file on the server as user "nobody" instead of the actual user. There was a discussion of this previously in the forums. Cpanel and Disk Usage Gallery and Cpanel
