Yah the SAMS books RAWK! It is a great one About the PHP include.... umm, errrr... could you 'clue' in a 'clueless' sista on how that would be done? I haven't ever used PHP includes before. Any links to tutorials on how that would be done? Thanks Nat

Just thought I'd let you all know I found a great beginner CSS book. It's called: Teach Yourself CSS in 24 Hours and it's by SAMS. The author is Kynn Bartlet. It's a great starter book and really explains everything in a clear and concise manner. Still learning it all. Looks like you can do some pretty neat stuff with CSS. C-ya, Nat

Thanks for the tips guys. Yah the more I read into iframes the more I see people discourage against it for the reasons you mentioned. I use it right now for my image gallery on my current site, but that's it. Will look for those books. I have found a bunch of CSS info from my searches. It's still all Greek to me, but I think if I really delve into it I will be able to make it more familiar. Thanks again Nat

Hey gang! Just got my upgrade to DWMX 2004 and noticed it's very much oriented towards CSS instead of HTML type styling. I was wondering if anyone here knows of any good CSS within Dreamweaver tutorials I could check out? I am planning a complete re-design of my site and I want to use external CSS to make the site more uniform and easier to change in the future. Any tips would be super helpful. I was also wondering about the use of iFrames for a site. Is this reccomended? I was thinking of doing a really nice clean layout with the nav bar links going into iFrames instead of the Frame oriented layout I have now. Other than that, I was thinking of maybe doing a DW template and working the pages from there. Any thoughts on iFrames? Is it the same story regarding SEO as Regular Frames? Thanks Nat

Hi Andy, I'm tryng to change the mail.cgi script for Dada mail. In the online installation instructions, it states to CHMOD the mail.cgi file to 755. I tried to do this using cPanel with no luck. I then tried to use WS_FTP LE and it doesn't show numbers. It only shows this: It also says beside the CHMOD function (UNIX) Is there a better FTP program that will enable me to CHMOD the script? Hmmmm this is not working in cPanel. I also tried using WS FTP but the CHMOD command won't let me change the permission numbers. Strange.

Ok.. my dial up dropped... connection is bad right now b/c of rain. Just went back in and tried to change the Permission to 755 and it won't do it. It just stays at 644. Any ideas why this might be happening? The Permissions tables shows User Group World Read x x x Write x Execute Permission 6 4 4 Thanks, Nat

Just trying to configure Dada mail for my site and I had to CHMOD the mail.cgi script. It was set at 644 and I am using cPanel to set it to 755 per the instructions. So far that thing has been chugging for about 5 min. Does it usually take this long to make the change? Thanks, Nat

Do you still have to seperate each eamil address with a semi-colon (;) when sending to multiple addies in the BCC field? Rob, I just sent the exact email I sent out to the distribution group. Some emails did get through, so maybe that first 50 thing is what happened.... That's really frustrating tho since that means I am gonna have to break down the groups into mini-me groups. Do you think I should just try that? LOL don't worry about the hair! Oh Man... wait a minute. I had set up an email forwarder in c-panel for the address enewsletter@identitymusicgroup.com and it was still enabled when I sent out all 2200 emails just now.... Could that have messed the whole thing up? I'm now not sure if anyone got the email. Mitch... I had added you to the mailing list after I sent you my CD... did you get the eNewsletter OK? Can you check to see? OMG I hope this didn't get totally messed up. It looks as though every single email in the Distribution Groups got bounced back with that 'unrouteable mail domain' error. EEK! I feel like a twit!
